Save American Dreams!

Mar 31, 2005 09:30

American Dreams has become an integral part of my family’s life for the past
three years. Each week we sit down to watch the show together, and each week we
discuss the issues addressed. My brother, a sixteen year old with an “I’m
better than all of you” attitude most of the time, sits and watches the show
with fascination; it is the only show that he does this for! My mom grew up in
Canada in the 60s, and can remember the boys who came over to avoid going to
the war, among other things. American Dreams premiered when I was in a music
appreciation class, discovering an immense appreciation for the music of the
60s. I love all of the scenes at Bandstand, and hope to have many more in the
coming years. In recent years, my family has collected 'new' music, music that
without Bandstand scenes on American Dreams, I may never have been exposed to.
In addition, I feel as though I’ve grown up with Meg, JJ, Patty and Will. I
want to see more of their lives! I want to see Beth and Patty go to college,
and I want to see Trip grow up.

Please keep American Dreams on the air, it is perfect family entertainment, and
I’d much rather watch AD than Desperate Housewives, or the countless ‘reality’
shows that are on the air every night. It is important that families have a
show that everyone can sit down and watch together, gaining a little insight
into the lives of the generation that grew up during the Vietnam War era.

Thank you,
Angela Galli
