30 minutes had passed and he still failed to understand a single word from the presentation.

Cale had been staring on the screen with one of his staff presented.

Well, it’s not like he really listening to the presentation but it sure took off his mind from James for a while.

He just hated Monday and now he’s stuck with some lame ass meeting.

It reminded him to someone who always with him, patiently endear his mood swing every week.

“Stop,” Cale stood all of sudden, threw his pen to the table
.
All eyes on him and yet he could care less about it.

Something needed to be done.

Cale hissed quietly, “Is this how you suppose presenting your idea to me?”

It’s not right for him to burst out his anger, he knew it.

But it’s not right for him to sit through a meeting that could make him fall asleep.

Cale eyed each one of them but they not dare to make eyes contact with him.

Everyone stared to their file quietly.

“Do it all over again. I want to see new ideas from all of you,” Cale command firmly, his voiced burst with anger.

Nothing that they can do other than nodded quietly.

It’s a command.

They all knew perfectly with Cale’s working style.

Cale took his file away; stormed out from the meeting room alone.

Everyone looked at each other gaping, tried to understand why their boss so angry.

What just happened?

“Hey James,”

James turned around and he found Mark with his cheerful face.

He watched his friend quietly while Mark tried to catch his breath from his little run.

“I just want to say thank you for the song,”

James felt dumbstruck with the sudden compliment.

“Oh? I never thought that I-“

Mark nodded and smiled happily, “Now I can perform the song, all thanks to you.”

“I’m glad,” James smiled warmly, facing his back to his friend as he continued his work.

Mark quickly held James by the shoulder, stopping James on the track, “But I have something to ask you.”

Sighing deeply, James met his friend eyes again, “What is it?”

“Who do you have in mind when you’re belting that song?”

“I-I…I,” James stuttered softly, “I don’t have anyone in my mind.”

James stared at Mark but Mark only stared at him even more.

Something about the stare that intimidated him and he don’t left no choice.

“It’s Cale,” James sighed awkwardly giving in, “He’s the friend that I’m talking about the other day.”

James watched his friend quietly tried to read his reaction.

“You sound sad,” Mark said worriedly, “Is everything okay between you and him?”

James sighed as he continued his pace again with Mark followed at his side.

“I don’t know,” James breathe quietly, his hand picking up the dirty dishes on the table.

“I’m just,”

“You just what?” Mark asked curiously.

“Does it sound crazy that I miss him?” James gazed at Mark briefly, “I know I shouldn’t miss a guy like this.”

Mark patted James shoulder; he smiled knowingly, “You’re not crazy for missing him. You’re just used to have him all the time. I mean you guys are working to together, right?”

James smiled sadly. He can felt his heart sunk a little.

“How come you are not awkward when I’m talking like this? Most guy will-“

“Most guys will look at you awkwardly and don’t know what to say?” Mark cut in, a warm smiled followed.

James nodded quietly, “Yeah.”

“Well maybe I’m not one of them,” Mark smirked widely causing James laughed softly.

“Thanks Mark. I feel a little bit better now,” James pull his friend for a quick hug.

Mark replied to the hug, his hand softly patted on James back.

He knew James could use some comfort squeeze.

“Quit hugging each other in the public,” Sebastian spat angrily, startled the two guys.

“Don’t be jealous,” Mark smirked wickedly, “I know you want some hugs from James too, didn’t you?”

Sebastian scowled awkwardly, “I’m jealous? Did you lose your memory somewhere?”

James smiled widely watching his two friends banter. It’s so Mark and Sebastian.

“Guys, excuse me. These dirty dishes need some space,”

“James, there’s a mail for you at the counter. Go check it out,” Sebastian remarked.

Mark looked at Sebastian briefly as his eyes watched James from the back.

A letter for James?

Sebastian was about on his way when Mark yanked him to the corner of the diner.

“What is it Mark?” Sebastian hissed softly.

“Sebastian Smythe, you want to tell me what the mail is all about?” Mark spat angrily.

Sebastian shrugged innocently, “Just a token of appreciation for James since he’s the new kid in here.”

“Just spill it Sebs,” Mark gritted his jaw tight, “I don’t like secret and you’re keeping a secret with my boy.”

“Cool it down, will you?” Sebastian sighed, “It’s just a football ticket. I want him to have some fun.”

“Just a ticket?” Mark asked curiously.

“Yes,” Sebastian chuckled to himself. He knew Mark could be so protective at times, “It’s just a normal ticket. No spell or anything on it. It’s harmless.”

Mark sighed in relief, “He could use some entertainment. I just talk to him and he admits that he was missing Cale.”

Sebastian nodded softly, “Looks like Cale have a place in his heart.”

“Do you think he might be in love but he doesn’t know it yet?” Mark asked curiously.

“I wouldn’t know. It’s hard to know someone feeling, but he’s missing Cale. That could be a start.”

“Where’s Darren?” Mark look around the diner but he didn’t saw his friend there.

“He’s following Cale. We decides maybe that’s the only solution to find his guardian.”

“I can’t imagine if James finally realize that he actually has feeling for someone who can’t repay it back.”

Sebastian patted his friend comforting, “You and Darren still need to shoot the big arrow. Only that arrow will tie him with the guy that he in love.”

Mark nodded quietly, his lips matched the smiled that been tugging on Sebastian.

Cale was on his way back to his office after the short lunch break when his step stopped at the door of his room.

“Dad, what are you doing here?” Cale asked curiously.

A blonde hair lady was coming with him.

“I heard what happen at the meeting room this morning.”

“Dad, everything is fine. Don’t worry.”

He watched his dad eyes carefully.

Nevertheless his dad was standing at his side, whispered quietly.

“I know you’ve been busy to run your work all by yourself. Interview here...You need an assistant.”

“But dad-“

“No but. How long do you plan to work like this?”

“There’s nothing wrong with the way I handle my work.”

“And yet you burst out your anger during a meeting?”

Cale sighed desperately. He knew it will be a tough road to convince his dad.

It always has been that way.

“Let me know what you think of her after the interview.”

Cale nodded quietly as his dad walked out from the room.

Taking a deep breath, Cale walked up to the lady.

Though he’s not in the mood, betraying his father command would be useless too.

“I heard that you’re interested to fill this position.”

“Yeah, my name Kate,”

He admitted though he didn’t need an assistant, this Kate lady sure was beautiful.

Eye catching he might add.

“So, do you have any experienced for this position?” Cale looked at Kate quietly.

Without warning, Kate slowly walked at Cale, closing their distance, “I do. And if you’re not mind-“

Her hand slowly tracing Cale trousers carefully stopped at the hips.

“I can help with this one too. If you know what I mean.”

Cale felt surprised with her sudden boldness.

Is she come here with some ulterior motive?

Cale quickly parted their distance, gulped his own nervousness.

“Well thank you for your interest,” Cale tried to even out his breath again.

That was so close.

“I’ll let you know if you’re accepted for the position.”

Kate smirked widely. She never thought that Cale will feel intimidated with her seduction.

“Thanks for your time,” Kate winked cheekily.

Before she walked out from the room, she whispered softly at Cale one last time.

“Just think about it. ”

Cale watched Kate’s back as she disappeared behind the door, his hand tentatively tidy up his neck tie.

Breathing deeply, he turned to his desk to catch the file that he needed for his next meeting that evening.

Then he heard the door of his room be opened again.

Cale gazed warily, tried to make some sense into his mind.

Is he daydreaming again?

Blinking with surprised, he tried to make out his word.

“J-James?”
