Tamaki was excited. As friendly as he was, he had never had a real friend before. Fay was probably the closest he had ever come, and maybe Yuki too, but he knew he could only talk to them because of their positions, and it wasn't exactly the same as having a real friend. It wasn't that people didn't like Tamaki, it was just that he was rarely allowed to leave the castle, and it was even rarer that he could talk to people his own age.
He wasn't really sure how old Asuka was, he just knew that he seemed kind of nice, if not weird. And he didn't know Tamaki as just a prince. Though Asuka might only be going there to give Tamaki the ka'a thingy, it was better than nothing.
After talking to his father, he managed to convince the guards to let Asuka in without taking anything from him.
Tamaki, quite pleased with himself, waited eagerly in one of the front rooms.
