Very Important Hunting Club Time

Feb 26, 2007 12:25

The morning of the hunt was a perfect clear, warm day. Stephen was the first to arrive at the meeting place out near the stables-- normally he aimed for fashionably late, but he didn't want to risk anyone important showing up before him. It'd just be rude. So he was already dressed for the hunt, and sitting astride one of his horses. Stephen Jr. ( Read more... )

Since Fay had been invited, Kurogane had, by extention, been also. And wherever Fay was going, Kurogane got there first--if only by a couple of seconds.

He led their horse over, looking around in a manner automatic to him now, to see how safe their current surroundings were, and how he could make them safer. He nodded to Stephen in greeting, then turned to call back to Fay, "Stop spoiling the dog and hurry up, mage." Somehow, he managed to make that sound almost fond.

Stephen was about to ask the tall man who he thought he was. He looked a bit too military to be a stable boy, but certainly no one Stephen wanted in his important hunting club-- his clothes were too plain to be noble or money. But then Fay came after him, holding a dog.

The man must be his bodyguard. He gave Kurogane a look at the rude way he spoke to Fay-- he didn't like these common soldier types at all, not when they didn't know how to speak to someone so clearly noble and refined and hot.

Then, he grinned and waved at the mage. "Good morning, Fay! You look good today! Excited for hunting, I mean! Is that your dog? She looks like a fine one!"

Kurogane returned Stephen's look with an unimpressed one himself--if Fay ever minded, he'd complain, but he knew better than anyone what Kurogane really meant. And he knew just how hot Fay was, thank you.

Kurogane steadied Fay when he bumped into him, one hand on Fay's arm. He watched, amused, as Fay said hello to the other man's animals. "You didn't think she'd be the only hunting dog here, did you?"

Tamaki arrived shortly after Fay and Kurogane (he had left at more or less the same time, but his horse had gotten sidetracked by a particularly tasty looking bush).

He ooed at Stephen's eagle. "Wow, that's a really beautiful eagle," he said, smiling. "Did you train her?"

She didn't seem to exactly have the mannerism for a hunting dog, but Fay was new to this so Stephen couldn't blame him for not understanding. Besides, she was a nice dog and would train well. Perhaps he'd ask Fay to breed with him.

The dogs, that was. Yes. Anyway.

"This is Yuzuru," he said, gesturing at the bigger brown dog, "and this is Tamaki," he added, indicating the small, lighter dog. "They're my boys! Great dogs."

Just then, Tamaki rode up. "Prince Tamaki," he called, only slightly giddy. "Hi!"

Stephen really did like the dogs. He had quite a few at home, but these two were his favorites. He gestured to the eagle. "Thanks, I did! This is Stephen Jr., and he'll do me proud out there, don't you worry."

Rukia came galloping toward them as quickly as she could. She was smiling, and although there was something solemn in her eyes, she waved and singsonged, "Hello, everyone~! I hope I'm not too late." more than cheerfully enough ( ... )

((Don't kill me, I haven't rped...like this before...o_O; Let me know if I fuck up))

Zelda trotted elegantly toward the group, her stomach with a slight sinking feeling as she came to the conclusion that she was late. Nevertheless, she sat with very good posture and put on a smile, keeping a note to herself to argue less with her mother prior to meeting someone the same morning.

"Kilas...ooh...good morning, everyone," she said sweetly. She looked at the dogs and giggled at them, and then turned to Rukia and said, "We meet again, with horses~!"

"Hello, Fay-sama!" said Rukia, with a little bow (as much as one could bow from atop a horse, at least) in his direction.

With a beaming smile, she turned to Zelda. "So it appears we do~!" she giggled. "It's nice to see you again!"

"Ladies," said Stephen when the two women arrived. "I'm so glad the two of you could make it."

Hunting was really a man's sport, but it'd be useful to have more nobility along, so it'd be all right.

Stephen Jr. eyed Kon curiously at the look he was being given, and flapped his wings, but didn't fly away.

Yuzuru, meanwhile, was enjoying having his ears scratched very much, leaning against the mage and wagging his tail, hoping that he'd get more scratches. Tamaki approached Fay as well, sniffing him and pressing his cold nose against the man's neck, wanting some attention himself.

Stephen grinned at the sight. "They like you! Looks like you're a real dog person, aren't you?"

"Good morning," Kurogane greeted the two ladies, and Tamaki, with a respectful nod of his head to the prince. He could be polite when he wanted to be. For short amounts of time, anyway.

Still, he was more interested in Fay than any of the proceedings there. He looked over. "Doesn't matter," he said honestly, also missing any innuendo there. "You can hold on better from behind, right?"

Kurogane had to bite back the automatic I'm not a dog, but knew saying it would only be embarrassing, since Fay hadn't actually called him one. Just implied it. Dammit, mage...

"Right." He swung himself up onto the horse easily, rubbing a hand over the side of her neck to soothe her. "Need a hand?"

"Uh, Actually," said Stephen, "don't you think that's a little impractical? Fay'll hardly get to do any hunting. Besides, uh--" he actually had no idea what that guy's name was "--you would probably be more comfortable on your own horse, yeah? I've got one in the stables that would be right for you."

The one Stephen was thinking of in particular was the giant ill-tempered stallion with a tendency to bite and thow its riders.
