ADMIN POST: HBP POSTING GUIDELINES
The following posting rules/guidelines will be in effect, as they relate to HBP and it's release, based results of the recent HBP Spoiler poll and enforced by all the mods: unplottable_mod, prncspnut, hp_speculation, mariannec, lizardlaugh, and ixchelmala.
ALL POSTS WILL BE SCREENED
STARTING JULY 14, 2005 MIDNITE PST
Posts will not be reviewed until one of the mods has finished reading HBP. (Give at least 72 read time hours to mods.)
Any poster who does not adhere to guidelines set here will be firmly asked to edit their post within 24 hours OR LESS. If a mod contacts you, follow their instructions, or risk losing your post by way of deletion.
MODERATORS DO NOT HAVE EDITING RIGHTS
ON OTHER MEMBER POSTS
The following NEW BOOK spoiler policy to be in effective immediately until further notice.
NEW RULES FOR HALF-BLOOD RELATED POSTS:
• Cut tags: Make excessive use of properly-labeled cut tags.
• Icons: Don't use spoilery icons.
• Comments: If the original post isn't about spoilers, don't make references to spoiler information in your comments.
• References: Don't make veiled allusions to spoilers outside the tags.
(e.g. don't label a post "Poor Colin!" and then *weeps* and then a cut tag labeled "HOW COULD SHE?!?!?" or "OMG YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO LOVE/HATE/OMGWTFBBQ PAGE xx!!!")
What's NOT considered to be a spoiler on unplottables:
• The title of the BOOK.
• The number of chapters.
• Any information released by JKR (on her website, etc.).
• Official JKR interview information not contained in a spoiler-laden article.
Here’s some examples of SPOILERS:
• Reviews of ANY sort (official, librarian, your mother’s cousin’s half-sister’s brother-in-law, etc.).
• ALL Chapter names.
• Scans of a book page.
• The name of any new characters.
• Audio/transcript of audio book version.
• The fact that someone dies.
• Any information that might reveal who that person is.
• ALL shippy information (including the fact that ANYONE will or won't kiss/makeout/date/etc.).
• Any and ALL HBP speculation (the HBP being someone we know, etc.).
• Any references to other theories being debunked or not as a result of this new book.
PLEASE ALLOW AUTHORS OF THOSE THEORIES TO MAKE THEIR OWN POSTS
Here's an example of how your post should look like including acceptable cut-tags.
We can't stress enough the importance for unplottables to be spoiler free.
Last time around (OotP), some of you were unexpectedly spoiled by nefarious people on the net, and it took away from their reading experiences. We here at unplottables want to do everything to avoid such annoyances.
These may seem like extreme measures. They are here to protect everyone from being spoiled unnecessarily.
