I had a phenomenally idiotic revelation: I am sick of writing essays and I give up on Streetcar. I'm so bored of all the subjectivity in English (though to a lesser extent History) a level.
Right now, maths is the most comforting subject, (when I understand it) so I decided I might try computer science or japanese at university. I totally give up on English Lit, which sounds stupid because I've been looking forward to studying this subject at a higher level...until I found that there were shitloads more boring names in English Literature than the interesting and the profound.
I'm especially frustrated at Keats. I could write an essay on his stuff easily. He just appears to me to be too worldly and I can't stand him. I dislike Streetcar essays as it's openness for interpretation makes objectivity and judgment under timed/exam conditions difficult to write. I spend way too long on Austen as well. Her stuff is just social society, manners, comedy and what sucks is trying to comment on her satire and sarcasm.
