actual shit.

got my taxes done Friday, took the guy FIVE HOURS to take care of Domi & I. granted, we were the first "hurricanes" that they'd dealt with, and he had to get approvals to cut us deals, but shit, five hours? I'm told that Jax-Hewitt is faster... and cheaper. I'm only getting around $373, $123 of which is paying for the service. On the bright side, I won some tax software stuff, so that might be my only experience with a tax preparer. Once I get some free time I'm gonna learn how to use it, and keep a running tally of money earned, spent, etc.

After that we went to the outlet malls in Aurora. She found a Coach store and went ballistic, trying on jackets, looking at purses... maybe I'm just a dumb guy who doesn't know shit, but I honestly DON'T see the great deal... maybe it's bc I don't carry a purse. Who knows. I've never been a label or brand fiend... I prefer adidas over nike, but even that's for functional reasons (adidas fit me so much better). other than that? brand names don't mean a thing to me. that goes for everything from clothing to groceries. see how simple I am? :) I got myself some basketball shoes (finally, bc I had NONE up here), so I'll be hoopin it up again.

Saturday was a lazy day, we were both tired from shopping. Sunday we went to church, and did some things around the house. blah

monday I got my 3rd test back, I dropped the ball BADLY, so I need to bounce back from that. Good thing I did well on the first two tests (A- and B-) so it shouldn't be hard to recover. Damn Kant!!

today, I went looking for work, and passed by my friends' place... twas good to see them, since I hadn't been over all year. i also went and found NE Illinois, since I need to know where it is. I got called about a tutoring opp... that doesn't start til the summer. dammit, I need something IMMEDIATELY, hopefully Ethel's or White Hen will come through for me. I'm gonna do a few more online apps just to cover my ass... but this job searching shit sucks. it's putting a strain on the house and even moreso on me, speaking from a pride level. I have some help coming but it can only last so long, I need to be bringing in something more consistently. this gap in work (5 months) didn't even happen while I was in new orleans, and to think I had considerably LESS experience then.... which leads me to believe that in the end, it's all about who you know.

test, work, stuff, update, jobhunt
