Wow, so it's been a while since I've actually bothered updating this. What's been happening in my life since then? Well, I'm back from my European adventures (have been since Feb 09) and am busily saving to go overseas again in Feb next year. This time, I'm off to the USA. Currently I'm working at a place called Tidal River, and while it can be crazy at times, it's a beautiful little piece of the world, so I guess that makes up for it.
I've been down here since September last year, and in November I moved down here full time after I finished with Uni. Speaking of Uni I've finished my BA in English and History, and completed a Masters in Tourism last year, and ultimately I'd love to work in development. That is a long way off yet though, I've still got so much more of the world to explore.
I suppose I'll tell you all a bit about Tidal River. It is the only settlement within Wilsons Promontory National Park (google it if you haven't heard of it). Tidal River basically has a permanent population of less than 20, so it can get fairly lonely down here at times. I work in the general store/takeaway/cafe which is open year round to service visitors to the park. Tidal River is on the Western side of the park 30km from the main gates. It isn't the most Southern point, however it is the base from which people go hiking throughout the Southern section of the park. I haven't been hiking yet, but I'm planning to at some point before I leave. I've done a lot of short walks around Tidal River though, and my absolute favourite place is Squeaky Beach, every time I'm there it's beautiful. I work down in Tidal River 5 days a week and currently am the only Shop staffer who lives on site, meaning I have the honor of doing all the washing for the shop, and driving the delivery van when I'm on site. All in all, it's a good job. The people I work with are a lot of fun, although some nights I'm bored out of my skull, especially since it's dark so early now and this place is quite spooky.
I've decided to start posting some of my fan fiction on here, and the first one that I've put up is my first Bones fic, titled Never Again. When I first wrote it I didn't like it too much, but it has grown on me. There's also a sequel called Haunted that I will start posting on here sometime in the near future. I'll also post some of my other stories on here as well.
