Graduation Day By Jessie Phan

Family, friends, boys and girls I welcome you today
I am ViVi’s Mom and this is Graduation Day!
I needed help trying not to cry and say what I have to say
So ViVi helped me say it in this Dr. Suess-y way.
Kindergarten meant so much to my family and me
It meant my daughter growing up, no longer needing me.
But as we look back on all our school has had to teach
We realize that nothing was ever very far out of reach.
Our babies needed all our help to make it to today
But there were many other who helped along the way.
Mrs.(fill in correct name) taught them to exercise, showed them jumping jacks,
And had our children running many many MANY laps.
Mrs. (fill in correct name)had the biggest mess to deal with every day.
Glue and paper howler monkeys and alligators made of clay.
Mr. Vice rules the library, checking out he could help you,
But don’t make me tell him that your books are over due!
Daily morning visits from Dr. Diggs we love,
To share in pledge allegiance, and quick good morning hugs.
Of course without Mrs. Arnold, no day could be complete,
(If it were Me I would at least have tried to GLUE them to their seats!)
They explored the rain forest and letters A through Z
She made reading and computers easy 1 - 2 - 3!
But all the little pieces don’t make the puzzle whole
It was the child - teacher - parent team that told us where to go.
I know my little girl has grown before my eyes
Taller, stronger, confident and getting very wise.
Respectful, peaceful, patient, calm and safe throughout the day
You have all helped her learn to follow high five ways.
Again I want to congratulate you each on the progress that you’ve made
And I can’t wait to see you all when we finally start FIRST GRADE!

class parties, to remember, vi-vi
