Miracles DO happen!

Today, my newborn baby had a near-death experience.

Leslie and her dad were driving me home, and we were listening to a CD, which made me remember that I had my brand new "How to Dismantle An Atomic Bomb" in my backpack. (Did you actually think that I would leave it all by it's lonesome in a cold house for eight hours?!) So, of course, I enthusiastically suggested that we listen to it. Then the inevitable happened. Leslie put my CD in, and we heard a grinding and crunching noise come from the CD player. After exchanging "WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!??!!" looks, she tried to eject my CD. But it didn't come out!! I started getting really freaked out, because even when she ejected every single CD from the disc changer, mine didn't come out with them! Terrible visions flooded my mind. My CD somehow falling through the car, dropping in the middle of 320th, sitting there all alone, getting run over by every passing vehicle... my CD getting eaten by a machine in the disc changer with sharp metallic teeth... my CD in pieces, a severed portion of it coming out when Leslie finally managed to eject it... That's when I started crying, like the idiot that I am. Leslie, trying to make me feel better, said something like, "Well, we can listen to my CD - "

"NO! I WANT MY CD BACK! I WANT MY U2!!" (whimper)

Maurice, Leslie's dad, kept giving me distressed looks in the rear-view mirror. It was one of the hardest moments of my life, knowing that I might never see my baby again..
Then, finally, a long overdue miracle occurred. My CD resurfaced, bright, shiny, and black and red as ever.. I kissed it in excess and held it close, promising to protect it for the rest of time.
Maurice must have felt pretty sorry for me after my traumatic event, because he bought Leslie and me Starbucks, not allowing me to pay for myself. Yum.

Besides that, nothing really notable happened today. Did the in-class essay for Lee, which turned out to be four pages. Band was fun. Meh.
Have a good Thanksgiving everyone, in case I don't talk to you!
