Kapiti!
well, i thought i should do a "i'm now living in not-wellington" post, but there's not too much to say on the subject. moving was hell, nic and i have a LOT of stuff and there were inevitable pointless arguments and stress. but, praise the good lord, it is now over. Then, less than an hour after i got here, nic's mum kidnapped the both of us and took us off to her friend's party because she needed somebody to play santa and Nic has experience. making conversation with total strangers with whom i have nothing in common is stressful for me at the best of times, but when i am tired and frazzled it is terrible. but at least there was hangi to eat, and we got home relatively early.
Paraparaumu is grey and wet today. i can see kapiti island, shrouded in cloud, from my window. Nic has just made unsuccessful macaroni cheese and is watching telly.
i really do want to have a group christmas party. would anybody be amenable to wednesday or friday evening? either we could gather at some kind person's flat and have everybody bring something sweet to eat and some alcohol if you are that way inclined, or just meet in a bar somewhere and have a few drinks? or have a picnic outside somewhere. i don't know.
