The Ridges

I don't have much time because I have to get ready for class, but I thought I'd write a quick entry because I feel bad because I've written two limited access entries for the first time, and since I'm not used to it, it seems weird to me. I do like the option, though. It's nice.

It's only Tuesday, but the week is going well. Yesterday I went to class and didn't do much else, except Wudi and I and Sam (girl I'm friends with in the hall) went to The Ridges, Athen's old insane asylum that's now owned by Ohio University. I'd never been there at night, and it was pretty neat. We saw OUPD sitting in his car and we weren't sure if we were trespassing, so we asked him and he said we weren't as long as we didn't go in the buildings, and then he let us ask him questions about the Ridges and stuff. I like OU's Police Department; I've been here three years now, and I've never seen them bug anyone for no reason or get in anyone's way or anything. They don't go around looking for people to arrest or anything, they are just kind of around to make sure we don't kill each other or anything. I think that's nice; I think that's what campus police should do, without making assholes of themselves so that we don't trust them. Anyway, the Ridges are really really neat and interesting... I'll try to post pictures sometime (I really am going to get around to posting some albums online). The cemetary behind it is the creepiest thing... it's numbered. It's mental patients and the worst part is, some of the numbers are repeated, and some of the records are lost and now there's a big push to find out exactly who is in there. Creepy, huh? Athens is one of the most haunted places in America, and definitely Ohio. Which gives it so much character!

I have an exam tomorrow but I'm not particularly worried. I have plenty of time to study. I have class at noon and it's 11:12 right now, which means I should get ready, but I really don't want to go. Ugh. I better, though. Miraculously, we didn't have class yesterday, because my prof was sick. No such luck today. Oh well. I better go.
