Name: Sylwia (the Polish version of Sylvia)
Zodiac/Sun Sign: Aquarius
Age: 25
Location: NYC

Since this is a friending meme about activity, how often do you post/comment?

I plan to post daily at most and weekly at least. I use the scheduled entries feature to make sure that I'm keeping myself present in my f-list's LJ lives. :)

I feel like it takes everyone forever to name all of the things they enjoy in movies, television, and music. Let's limit this to the five things/fandoms you care most about right this second, or that you've recently squeed over, or what you'd like to meet more fans of!

1. ASOIAF (and by extension GOT).
2. Elementary (which I think has the best fanbase to possibly exist).
3. Supernatural (although I took a hiatus so I haven't seen season 7 or 8 yet).
4. The 52 (soon to be 53) Disney Animated Features.
5. Anime/manga of various sorts.
(6. I'm watching The L-Word for the first time and wouldn't mind getting to know fans of that fantastic show.)

What are your interests and/or what are you most passionate about? (If it's easier you can limit it to five things.)

1. Feminism/Social Justice/Activism.
2. Psychology/mental health counseling. (My career.)
3. Mental health (includes body positivity, which I post a lot about on tumblr).
4. Astrology.
5. Creative Writing? (Question mark because this fluctuates between a passion and a hobby lately, while it was a passion for most of my life.)

Are these the things you post most about? If no, what do you post about? What does LiveJournal mean to you?

I post about my interests but I try very hard to make all of my posts interactive if not to open up room for critical thinking and having intense but pleasant discussions with one another. I like to induce thought as a poster and to empathize and support as a commenter.

I rarely post about my daily life. I feel like behaviors are so much more boring that thoughts/values/opinions. However, if I do something really cool, I'll write about it, and I will answer questions about my life if asked.

LiveJournal has always been a place of making friendships for me. Sure, I share my thoughts and that feels very good, but it feels even better to have conversations and interactions. I want you to learn from me and I want to learn from you.

Who would you like to meet through this meme?

1. Feminists/social justice activists.
2. Very active/active LJ users who would like to foster friendship.
3. People who enjoy the sharing of opinions/discussion while disliking debate.
4. People who enjoy fiction and look at it critically.
5. People who don't give out unasked-for advice. :)

Include a gif or image that describes you?

I can't seem to find your thread in the meme, but I read your profile and I definitely would like to be friends. I wonder, though, are you very new to LJ? I notice that you have 117 friends but only 1 mutual friend?

My thread is the first one on page 6 - I had to resubmit because of a LiveJournal error.

No, I'm not new to LJ - I've had this journal a few years now and am pretty active. I'm not really sure why you are seeing that, unless it's some weird thing with LJ.

Oh, I think LJ is showing me what friends WE have in common, instead of showing me who is following your LJ! I guess it was a change they made!

Friending you back now. <3

Ah, that would explain it. I didn't realise that LJ had put that feature in.

I probably should have twigged that your name was Polish, hah.

Sometimes people think it's a fake name, like how some people refer to themselves by some sort of online alias. But we Polish people don't have V's in our alphabet! So Sylwia it is! :)

Oh no, I am aware! Being Polish as well and whatnot. :P I gave up trying to explain my name to people, lol.

I did that! Over Christmas! I was born here though, so I'm really not kidding when I say my Polish is awful! I'm trying to improve though.

Where did you live there?
