Author’s note:

  • This fanfic was born after I watched Peach Girl trailer. Suddenly I wanted a story where Inoo is the center of attention, as a charai person, just like in Peach Girl. And I always wanted to write school story of JUMP.
  • After so many discussions with my Inoocent  squad, it was decided that both Inoo and Daiki here are “pure”, meaning they are mainly just high school boys, without much experience in sex and dating.
  • Some parts of the story are inspired by HanaKimi drama (the original one, not the remake), WITH Boys Be series, Peach Girl movie and many things that happened with Inoo & Daiki as JUMP members so far (their activities, photoshoots, filming, etc.).
  • Thanks to the Inoocent LINE chat group for their endlessideas for this fic.
  • This is an "open" fanfic, meaning I don't have an end for it, so it will keep on going as a serial.
  • I would love to hear your ideas for InooAri fanfic, and will try my best to put your ideas in the story. You can comment or DM me with your ideas.
  • Same thing applies, I prefer to use “Inoo” for Inoo Kei, and “Daiki” for Daiki Arioka. Please ignore my strange naming inconsistency.

CHAPTER 21

I am gay.

No, I’m not. I tried. But in reality, I stole glances more at girls in bikini rather than checking out my topless fellow male models. There is nothing interesting in looking at other guys, eventhough they are handsome and have the perfect body.

But with Dai-chan…

I am dating a guy. I have sex with him. So… I am gay, right?

Or am I just denying it?

Inoo sighs and rubs his eyes. e HeHe glances at the time on his phone. Daiki is probably still in the library or hanging out with his two buddies around this time. Inoo feels conflicted. He is tired and hungry, all he wants to do is take a shower then sleep, maybe after having some warm food from the cafeteria before it closes. Yet his feelings are so messed up, he doesn’t know how to face Daiki in this condition. Or more like, he doesn’t know how to lie in front of Daiki and put up an act like nothing happened. He’s been wasting his time here at the park near the conbini rather than going straight to his dorm.

Inoo stands up and reaches for his small suitcase. While dragging it out of the park, he sees two high school girls walking past him. Inoo is wearing a hat that covers his hair and face, the girls are busy talking to each other while looking at their smartphones. They don’t recognize Inoo, so Inoo lets out a deep breath.

For the first time in his life, Inoo realizes about many things. His modeling life is a part of his life even as a student. Girls notice him, like him and admire him. At some point, Inoo admits that he enjoys the attention. Although he also loves the work and the result. He thinks he is not a bad model. He has good relationships with his fans as well. He treats them like friends and they love him for that. A friendly and approachable model, that’s how Inoo builds his image.

Yet it’s all public image. He didn’t realize that being a public figure means he needs to hide some things too. Until yesterday when a fellow model brought this topic up.

Inoo had been away from school for the weekend. He had a photoshoot at the beach out of town for the magazine. It was a summer-themed photoshoot and the girls had to wear bikinis. Inoo had fun, especially because he got to see girls in cute bikinis. He loves boobs after all.

During the photoshoot break, one of the girl models showed Inoo her phone. She told Inoo that a male model that they knew was caught dating a guy. She was speaking as if being gay was something so humiliating and that fans would definitely hated the model. Other models involved at the location gathered and started talking about the incident, they had a general opinion that being gay as a public figure was not a good thing for their career.

Inoo went pale, and for the first time reality hit him hard. If the modeling business and fans hate homosexual models, then he could have the same treatment if they found out about him dating Daiki. He heard the model lost his endorsement because of this, fans left hateful comments on his SNS, and so on.

Is reality that harsh?

When Inoo looked at the paparazzi pictures of the male model and his partner, they looked happy together. He felt sad for them. For once, Inoo understood the other party’s feelings. If they were in love with each other, why couldn’t people just leave them alone?

Reality is that harsh.

Inoo sighs again as he walks sluggishly towards the dorm. As a student who lives in a broading school, Inoo is protected by the school limit. He realizes there is a world out there outside the school ground. Although he is friendly with his fan girls, they can’t see what happen inside the dorm. Inoo and Daiki are free, in their own little world, where their love life is safe inside four walls of their shared bedroom. So small yet so comfortable. Inoo feels stupid thinking that they can keep this forever, but they can’t. At one point, they will have to face reality.

After what happened at the photoshoot location, Inoo had been trying to imagine if he was in the same situation. That he got caught kissing Daiki or something. Inoo can’t imagine what his fan girls would think about him. Would they hate him? Would they feel betrayed? It’s not that Inoo lied to them, he genuinely likes to hang out with them. And so far, Inoo never dates anyone in particular. They did go out in pair, making out or kissing, but Inoo never said I love you to any girl. He always rejects confession kindly. The girls are still trying to gain his affection and win his heart to be his girlfriend, yet Inoo treats them nicely and equally as friends. If they found out that Inoo dating his roommate and already had sex with him, how would they feel?

The anxiety doesn’t diminish as Inoo walks to the front door of the dorm. Familiar setting and atmosphere greets him, some students he knows say hi to him as he walks up the stairs. Inoo cringes inside. In addition to his fan girls, what about his schoolmates? Would they be disgusted?

“Tadaima…”

Daiki looks up from his book and smiles as Inoo closes the door behind him. “Okaeri, Inoo-chan. How was the photoshoot? I saw the picture you posted, it looked nice huh? The beach and all the girls in bikini?”

Daiki was teasing Inoo, but Inoo has no mood to respond. He pulls his suitcase and parks it by his closet, then he sits down at his desk. “Yeah, it’s okay…”

“Inoo-chan?” Daiki turns around to Inoo. “Are you okay?”

“Mmm….. tired…” Inoo mumbles as he crosses his arms on the desk and puts his head down.

“Why don’t you take a shower? Have you had dinner yet? Do you want to have dinner at the cafeteria or outside?” Daiki voices out his concern.

Inoo mumbles again, closing his eyes. He feels tired, both physically and mentally, yet he doesn’t know what to say. He wished he could sleep in a hotel or something so he doesn’t have to face Daiki. All of the sudden Inoo’s eyes are wide open. He feels Daiki’s hand caressing his hair.

“Inoo-chan, go take a shower. I’ll go out and buy you dinner. Is there anything you want?” Daiki asks in gentle voice.

Inoo jerks to pull himself away from Daiki’s touch. He didn’t mean it, yet it shocks Daiki.

“Inoo-chan? What’s wrong?”

“Euh… nothing, I am just tired… Sorry…” Inoo makes excuses awkwardly.

Daiki retracts his hand, “Then… you should take a shower. Maybe you will feel better afterwards.”

Inoo mumbles, “In a minute…” He goes back to putting his head down over his folded hands on the table. He can hear Daiki walks back to his desk and sits on the chair. For a moment, there is only silence in their room. Inoo doesn’t like it. They had been silent before, yet it was comfortable silence. But this is stricken silence, fills up the room with awkward atmosphere that makes Inoo feel suffocated.

There are so many things that Inoo wants to tell Daiki, wants to hear what his opinion about it, yet Inoo doesn’t know what to say. He feels anxious and embarrassed for being reluctant about their relationship. He remembers that Daiki determined to protect Inoo’s image as a model by keeping their relationship a secret from anyone. Yet can Inoo say the same? He feels such a coward, because that day, he was certain he would lie and ditch Daiki just to save his face, not because he wants to protect Daiki.

Inoo feels so ashamed. That’s why he can’t say anything to Daiki. And the more he thinks about it, the more he wants to scream and cry. Suddenly Inoo stands up.

Daiki turns his head, “Eh? Inoo-chan, what’s wrong?”

“Eh… nothing…” Inoo chokes as he speaks. He puts his hand over his mouth then runs towards the door. He slams the door, leaving Daiki shocked without explanation.

Inoo runs to the end of the hallways and goes into the common bathroom, locking the door and facing the sink. With his hands gripping the sink edge so hard, Inoo cries. After sobbing so much, Inoo looks up and sees his reflection on the mirror.

Something feels familiar.

It takes a moment for Inoo to remember that this is the same bathroom he ran in to after Daiki kissed him for the first time. The kiss that changed his life forever.

“Inoo-chan, are you in there?” A soft knock and Daiki’s gentle voice almost make Inoo jump.

Since there is no answer, Daiki asks again, “Inoo-chan, are you okay?” He pauses then adds, “I am here, if you need m- help…”

Inoo stops sobbing. He is certain that Daiki was going to say the word ‘me’ before he changed it into ‘help’. He turns his head slowly towards the door. On the other side of the door, stood the guy he is dating. Not just that, Daiki is his best friend, the one he shares his joy and laughter, the one whom he holds so dear in his heart.

Inoo wipes the new tears that are falling from his eyes.

Yappari… the one I want to see the most… is Dai-chan.

*  *  *

Daiki waits anxiously outside the common bathroom door, wondering about countless reasons of  why Inoo locks himself up. He was shocked and terribly worried when Inoo ran off like that. He couldn’t see whether Inoo was crying or angry or something else. He can’t leave him alone, but he wants to respect Inoo’s privacy too.

His heart makes a small jump when he hears the click on the door. Yet the door remains closed. Hesitating at first, Daiki reaches for the door knob then opens the door. He steps inside and closes the door behind him, locking it just so others can’t come in.

Inoo is standing in front of the sink, his eyes are filled with tears and his shoulders shake as he sobs. Daiki’s heart sinks, his mind is full of bad news. Maybe Inoo is sick, or something bad happened to his family member or…

All of the sudden Inoo steps closer then hugs Daiki tightly. Sobbing hard while hugging, Inoo asks with hoarse voice, “Dai-chan, do you love me? Do you love me? Tell me, do you love me?”

Daiki is surprised with the question. What happened? He thought Inoo had a happy photoshoot by the beach, how come he is sobbing so miserably like this?

“Please, Dai-chan! Do you love me? Tell me!” Inoo’s voice is pleading in a heart-wrenching way. This is not a question, this is a request.

Daiki hugs Inoo tightly and answers gently, “Yes, Inoo-chan, I love you.”

Inoo asks again, this time with a sense of urgency in his voice, “Do you love anyone else? Takaki-senpai?”

Daiki is confused now. Why did Inoo ask such question, even bringing up Takaki’s name? He shakes his head a little, still hugging Inoo tightly, “No, Inoo-chan, you are the only one I love.”

Daiki thought his answer would calm Inoo down, yet Inoo now is bawling in his arms. He sobs, soaking Daiki shirt with his tears as Inoo buries his face against the crook of Daiki’s shoulder. Daiki raises his hand, calmly caressing Inoo’s hair. He decided that it’s best to let Inoo cry first and save all his curiosity for later.

After a minute, Inoo’s crying subdue until he only sobs silently. Daiki can feel that Inoo is tired. He feels that it’s better for Inoo to get some rest, before he can starts questioning Inoo about what made him cry.

“Is it okay if we go back to our room now? You need to rest,” Daiki softly speaks to Inoo’s ear.

Inoo nods against Daiki’s shoulder then slowly lets him go. Daiki smiles warmly and wipes Inoo’s eyes with his fingers. Without saying anything, Daiki holds Inoo’s hand while the other hand opens the door. There is no one in the hallway, so Daiki keeps holding Inoo’s hand and leads him back to their room. Even after they steps inside and Daiki locks the door, he won’t let Inoo’s hand go.

Daiki smiles, “Do you want to take a shower now? You look dirty and disgusting. You are a model, Inoo-chan, not a 5 years old.”

Inoo snorts and he looks around, trying to find something to blow his nose on. Daiki lets Inoo’s hand go so he can reach for the tissue box. He gives one to Inoo. Inoo wipes his face then blows his nose. Daiki looks at him. Finally Inoo calms down. Daiki pushes Inoo towards the bathroom. Inoo meekly obeys and steps inside, yet he turns around and looks at Daiki.

“Dai-chan, shower with me.”

Again, Inoo surprised Daiki tonight. Asking to shower together means they will do something erotic and intimate while showering. And thinking about Inoo’s condition, having sex is the last thing on Daiki’s mind. However, glancing at Inoo who is already looking very pitiful, Daiki can’t say no.

He steps into the small bathroom and closes the door. He helps Inoo get out of his clothes and puts them in the corner, then strips himself. Daiki has no intention of doing erotic things with Inoo. He just wants to help Inoo with shower. He thinks Inoo want to be pampered. He starts to worry that Inoo is getting sick.

Gently, Daiki holds the shower head and sets the water to warm. Inoo has his back facing Daiki, his hands are busy lathering up the sponge with soap. When Inoo’s hand reaches his shoulder to scrub his body, Daiki takes the sponge from Inoo’s hand.

“Let me,” he says.

Without a word, Daiki starts scrubbing Inoo’s back. He gives the shower head to Inoo so he can scrub better with both hands. Inoo is timid and quiet, letting Daiki do all the work. He asks Inoo to turn around so he can do the front part of his body. Daiki feels relieved inside to see that Inoo is not hard. He doesn’t want to feel awkward.

After rinsing all the soap from Inoo’s body, Daiki starts to scrub himself. Inoo gives him a hand and helps with the water. Once they both are clean, Daiki reaches his hand to stop the water, yet Inoo stops him. He takes the shower head from Daiki and mounts it in its dock to let the water cascade on them.

“Dai-chan, fuck me.”

Daiki thought Inoo wouldn’t surprise him again, yet he baffled him with another request, which he wanted to avoid. He looks at Inoo, “Inoo-chan, you should get some rest first.”

Inoo shakes his head and insists, “I want you in me. Now.”

Again, this is not a question, this is a request. And Inoo seems like begging now. Daiki starts to worry for real. There must be something serious happened while Inoo was away. Before he can say anything else, Inoo drops on his knee and his hand reaches for Daiki’s cock.

“NO!” Daiki immediately pushes Inoo’s hand away.

Inoo looks up to Daiki. “Why not? Didn’t you say you loved me?”

“Inoo-chan, I don’t know what happened to you, but please don’t do this. Not now,” Daiki holds Inoo’s shoulders, urging him to stand up.

“Why not? You don’t want to fuck me? I need you, Dai-chan,” Inoo looks like he is about to cry again, and the water on his face makes it difficult for Daiki to tell if Inoo is crying or not.

Contemplating for a moment, Daiki decided not to upset Inoo more. He pulls Inoo up and smiles, “Why don’t we finish showering first, then go to the bed?”

Inoo stubbornly shakes his head. His lips are pouting. “No. I want to do it right here, right now.”

“Inoo-chan…”

“Please, Dai-chan, just fuck me! How hard can it be?!”

If Inoo didn’t cry before and looked vulnerable,  Daiki would have slapped him on the face. “Inoo-chan!!”

With water poured down on both of them, Daiki tries his best to suppress his anger. His heart softens after he looks into Inoo’s eyes. If he hadn’t loved this person for a while, he would have missed it. But he can see it clearly, Inoo needs him now. And all he can do right now is to fulfil all his requests.

“Fine. Let’s do it.”

Inoo’s eyes light up and immediately his hand reaches for Daiki’s arousal, making him gasp but doesn’t say anything. Daiki will let Inoo do whatever he wants this time, yet he still can’t do it this way. He reaches and cups Inoo’s cheek, pulling him for a kiss. He kisses Inoo, who responds with fierce kisses. Daiki can feel his body being groped and touched roughly while Inoo’s other hand focuses solely on rubbing his dick. Inoo also presses his body against Daiki, where he can feel Inoo gradually becomes hard. Daiki gives in and lets Inoo play by his rule. Daiki joins Inoo’s hand in making each other hard. Although Daiki is not horny in the beginning, Inoo’s touch feels so good and he’s been missing Inoo for a few days. He can’t help being aroused and a drop of precum pushed out from his slit.

Inoo lets go of Daiki and picks up the soap. He scrubs his hand over it to make suds and then reaches behind himself. Inoo closes his eyes and moans as his fingers loosen up the way for Daiki.

Daiki gulps. Although he didn’t want this before, right now Inoo looks so erotic, pleasing himself while being so aroused. Daiki steps closer to kiss Inoo’s lips. He loves Inoo after all.

“I’m ready, stick it in me now,”

Inoo turns around, bending over a little. Although Daiki is hard, the situation is hardly sensual and he has to grit his teeth to give Inoo what he wants. Everything seems like a dream to Daiki. He just moves and Inoo moves with him, until Daiki reaches his climax. He feels the jolt, yet his mind is too busy with jumbled up thoughts. He can only watch silently as Inoo finishes himself off.

Inoo-chan, what happened?

*  *  *

Inoo has been quiet since they walked out of the bathroom. Daiki gently rubs Inoo’s wet hair with a towel, then dries it with a hair dryer.

“You should go to sleep now,” Daiki says after putting away the hair dryer. “Or are you hungry?”

Inoo shakes his head. Daiki has lost his appetite as well, yet he knows he hadn’t had anything since lunch and he can sense that Inoo is the same. “I tell you what, wait a bit, okay? Don’t go to sleep yet.”

Daiki goes to the water dispenser in the corner of their room where he usually makes his coffee. He picks two mugs and starts making hot chocolate.

Inoo looks up to Daiki when he offers him the mug. The steaming cocoa smells good and Inoo seems grateful for it. He takes a sip then mumbles, “Thank you.”

Daiki sits down on the edge of his bed, drinking his hot choco slowly. Inoo is staring blankly ahead, still sipping his choco even slower than Daiki.

When Daiki finishes his choco, he puts the mug on his desk. Thanks for being diligent with his assignment and homework, Daiki already finished everything that’s due tomorrow. He glances at Inoo, but probably the teacher will cut Inoo some slack because he’s been away for the weekend. This is not the time to tell Inoo to do his homework.

“Are you done?”

Inoo nods and gives the empty cup to Daiki. After taking care of everything and only leaves the night stand light on, Daiki motions Inoo to lie down.

“Go to sleep. If you’re not feeling well tomorrow, I can talk to Kojima-ryocho.”

Inoo crawls into bed and lies down. Daiki climbs in next to him and pulls the blanket over them. Eventhough in the past they talked about whenever they slept together in one bed that meant they were going to have sex, this time Inoo just snuggles into Daiki’s arms. After what happened in the bathroom, Daiki feels relieved that Inoo seems sleepy now.

Caressing Inoo’s hair gently, Daiki murmurs, “I don’t want to bother you with my questions, Inoo-chan, but just please answer this. Are you okay?”

Inoo looks up to Daiki, “I’m okay. Now that I’m here with you.”

Daiki presses his chin against Inoo’s head. “That’s good. That’s all I need to know right now. But… when you are ready to tell me about what happened, I am here to listen.”

Inoo pulls away from Daiki, making him regret from saying that. Now Inoo is staring at the ceiling. Daiki starts to worry again.

Inoo’s voice sounds heavy, “Why do you love me, Dai-chan?”

Daiki cringes inside. Inoo has been asking the same thing over and over again. What’s wrong with him? Why does he need to be assured about his love?

Before Daiki can answer, Inoo asks again, his eyes are still staring above. “Why me? Why not Takaki-senpai? Or Yuto or someone else?” This time Inoo turns his head, to look at Daiki. “I thought you hated me in the beginning? I know you disliked me for following you around on Saturdays.”

Daiki wonders where this will lead, but he feels Inoo need his answers now. “Yes, you’re right. I hated you, to be honest. Because I thought you were superficial, attention seeker and a player. You embodied every trait that I hated.”

Inoo’s eyebrows knit together upon Daiki’s remark. “If you hated me that much, how come you fell in love with me?!”

There is a surprised tone in Inoo’s voice, so Daiki quickly answers, “Well… after a while I found out there are so many good things about you and it’s no surprise that you have a lot of friends and fans.”

Daiki feels he is not making himself clear. He turns his body so he can face Inoo and looks into his eyes. “Inoo-chan, I can say many things I like about you. You’re kind to others, you’re funny, helpful and you are sensitive to your surroundings. Yet if you ask me, why I love you, I don’t know for sure. Inoo-chan, love… just happens. Like magic. I didn’t choose to fall in love with you. My heart did it all by itself. I can’t control it. I can’t even describe it with words. All I know that I love you and it’s hard for me NOT to be in love with you.”

Daiki reaches to Inoo’s hand and tangles their fingers together. “Why did you ask? What happened?”

Inoo is back to staring at the ceiling. He lets out a long deep sigh. Finally he tells Daiki about what happened at the photoshoot. After listening to Inoo’s story, it’s Daiki’s turn to sigh.

“This is the very reason I regret that I’m involved with you, or I got you involved in this, to be exact. Sometimes I wonder if I should just keep silent and throw away my feelings for you. If I didn’t kiss you back then, if I didn’t get close to you…”

“Dai-chan…”

“I personally don’t want our relationship to affect your life and career, Inoo-chan, I will hate myself if it ever happens.”

Inoo looks at Daiki, “So you will keep this as a secret forever?”

“If it’s necessary, yes. You experienced what could happened. That’s how the world would see us, would see you, if they found out that you are going out with a guy.”

Inoo turns his head again. His voice is barely a whisper, “I wish I wasn’t a model then…”

There is a silence between them, as if they are busy with their own thoughts, reluctant to share it.

Daiki breaks the cold silence with his clear voice, “So, do you think we should break up now? I think the sooner the better so we both can move on-”

Inoo sits up so fast before Daiki can finish his sentence, “NO! NO WAY! Please don’t say that!!”

Daiki follows suits, speaking gently, “Inoo-chan, if that can save you from humiliation and discrimination, I will break up with you. I’ll do anything for you.”

Inoo throws his arms around Daiki and pulls him closer. “I didn’t tell you this because I wanted to break up with you, baka!”

Daiki hugs Inoo warmly and caresses his back to calm him down, “I know, but I will do anything to protect you. You know that, don’t you?”

Inoo shakes his head and mumbles, “Still… don’t say break up…”

*  *  *

Daiki opens his eyes. His eyes blinks due to the sunlight from the window just in front of the bed. He blindly reaches for his phone to turn off the blaring music he set as an alarm. He glances at the time. He knows he will be late if he doesn’t get up right now, yet unlike every other morning when he had to rush to get ready alone because Inoo already left the room, this morning Inoo is still sleeping next to him. He can’t even move away because Inoo is sleeping on his right arm.

“Inoo-chan, are you okay? Are you sick?” Daiki asks, assuming Inoo woke up already because of his loud alarm.

Inoo opens his eyes and looks at Daiki weakly. He tries to smile but the curve of his lips barely made it. “I’m fine. I just… don’t feel like going anywhere. I just want to stay here all day with you.”

Daiki smiles. Inoo looks like a needy baby, he doesn’t have a heart to push him to go to school. He gives Inoo a small kiss. “I wish we could do that, but we can’t, right? Tell you what, let’s do that this weekend. We don’t have to go anywhere on Saturday. I will be with you as long as you want.”

Inoo curls up and closes his eyes. “That sounds good, but I still don’t want to go anywhere today. I don’t want to face anyone.”

“Do you want me to talk to Kojima-ryocho?”

Inoo opens his eyes again, sighing. “No. If you’re not here, then there’s no point of staying here.”

Daiki smiles to cheer Inoo up. “Then let’s go. We’ll be late, but we’re late together hahaha…”

Inoo forces himself up, Daiki helps him. When they stands up, Inoo clings to Daiki as if he can’t go anywhere without Daiki.

Daiki pats Inoo’s hand gently. “It’s okay. I will protect you. I promise.”

It turned out that this weekend Inoo had to go back home to see his parents. Inoo seemed reluctant to go, but he went home anyway. Daiki encouraged him to, eventhough he wanted to be with Inoo, he also thought a change of environment and Inoo seeing his loved ones can make him feel better.

Unexpectedly the one who suffered the most being away from each other is Daiki. He feels miserable without Inoo, he even sleeps in Inoo’s bed. By Sunday afternoon, Daiki misses Inoo so badly. Inoo texted him this morning that he didn’t know whether he would be back to school on Sunday night or Monday morning.

Daiki opens Inoo’s closet and takes out one of Inoo’s shirt. He holds the shirt in his arms. Inoo’s scent fills his lungs as he inhales. Daiki always thought he would be fine if Inoo was away. Yet this time, it feels unbearably lonely. He wants to hear Inoo’s voice, see his face and kiss his lips.

“Inoo-chan… hurry home…” Daiki sighs as he puts on Inoo’s shirt, imagining his body warmth and his presence.

*  *  *

“Dai-chan… Dai-chan, wake up…”

Daiki opens his eyes and jerks. He sits up right away, blinking his eyes in confusion. The room is a bit dark with only the light from the sunset out of the window.

“Inoo-chan… you’re back…”

Inoo smiles, “Tadaima. Are you okay?” Inoo’s smile turns into a wide grin as he looks at Daiki closer. “You miss me that much huh?”

“What?” Daiki gets up. still confused.

Inoo reaches his hand and with his fingers, he tugs on the shirt Daiki’s wearing. Daiki looks down at himself and gasps. Immediately removing the piece of clothing that doesn’t belong to him, Daiki tries to cover his embarrassment by pouting.

“I… I… was just trying it on and wondering where you bought this shirt. It looked good on you.”

Inoo accepts the shirt that Daiki shoves into his hand, grinning happily. “It looked good on you too, Dai-chan. You can have it if you like it so much.” Inoo bumps his shoulder against Daiki’s. “I’d love to see you wear my shirt,”

Daiki pouts more, “No, thanks!”

Daiki walks away from Inoo, but Inoo grabs his hand and pulls him into a hug. For a moment, Inoo just buries his face in the crook of Daiki’s shoulder.

“I miss you too…”

Inoo’s mumbling vibrates in Daiki’s chest, giving him a warm and fuzzy feeling. Daiki lifts his hand and caresses Inoo’s hair, telling himself silently, how much he missed this person in his arms.

When they pull away, Daiki examines Inoo’s face. He looks much better than when he left a few days ago. Inoo grins again, “Guess what? I told my parents that we are dating.”

Daiki gasps in surprised. He swallows to clear his throat, then asks Inoo as he looks at his boyfriend in shock. “WHAT?!”

“Wait, I am not saying I am coming out or anything. Right now, I think you are right, it’s best that our relationship is kept secret, but I don’t want to lie to my family about you. At least not to my parents. My sister doesn’t know about it.”

Daiki swallows again, hard. Even his palms are starting to sweat, too scared about what Inoo will say next. “What…what did they say?”

“They were calm. My dad is a bit conservative, so he went on about things like whether I made the right decision, or about my future, about career and about not having kids of my own and so on and so on.”

For someone who has girls lined up to be his girlfriend and just revealed to his parents that he chose to date a guy, Inoo seems pretty collected. Daiki reckons Inoo’s family took it calmly. He can’t even imagine if his father found out about him being gay and dating a guy right now. He fears for his life for a reason.

Daiki bites his lower lip, doubtful. “Your dad is right.”

Inoo squeezes Daiki’s hands. “Well, I told him thank you for thinking about that, yet what they were talking about is only what our society is used to, a norm, a standard. Get a job, get married and have kids. I said, rather than thinking about what the society thinks about me and you….” Inoo looks into Daiki’s eyes as he pauses for a moment.

“How about my feelings, Dai-chan? My dad thinks about my future kids, while I am thinking about my future self. Don’t mind kids, what if you left me? What if you found another gay who is far better than me? What can I do to make you stay? I told them, I am not sure about the future, but right now, I want to be with you, Dai-chan. We are dating and sharing things in our school lives. And all I want about my future is to have you in it.”

Daiki stares at Inoo. He is speechless.

He was the first who had feelings for Inoo, yet the one who pursued and turned it into a relationship was Inoo. He was the one who is certain that he is gay, yet Inoo is the one who told his family first. He was the one who claimed Inoo as his boyfriend, yet Inoo is the one who thinks about their future.

Daiki pulls his hand away from Inoo’s grasp, he steps back a little.

“Dai-chan?” Inoo asks, “What’s wrong?”

Daiki avoid his eyes from Inoo, whispering hoarsely. “How… how could I be the one saying I love you, yet I did nothing for you? Shouldn’t I be the one who protects you, reassures you about the future? What kind a person am I? Useless… Horrible…”

Inoo pulls Daiki’s hand again. “No, listen. It’s not just you, it’s both of us. We can protect this love together.”

Daiki looks at Inoo, with sadness in his eyes. “Am I good enough for you, Inoo-chan? Are you sure you want me in your future?”

Inoo nods, “Of course. I want no one else but you, Dai-chan.”

“But…” Daiki stops and swallows back the words he was about to say. But what about all the girls who love you? The girls you met at your modelling job? What if, like magic, you fell in love with one of them, and left me? I am just… your first love. How can I be sure there will be no second or third? Just like you, I have my worries, Inoo-chan.

Inoo moves his hands, now wrap around Daiki’s waist. “You promised to protect me, so now I promise you, we will make our dreams come true. You will get to Art School and I will get my Architectural degree. That’s our future. We have different paths, but we will be together, achieving our dreams. Got it?”

That night they made love before going to sleep. While Inoo is sleeping in his arms, Daiki can’t even close his eyes. His mind is too full of thoughts about their relationship and what would happen to Inoo if people found out about them dating.

In the morning, Inoo has to shake Daiki up to wake him up. “Did we do it too much last night? You seem tired,” Inoo smiles and fixes Daiki’s bang lovingly.

Daiki smiles back. “It’s not that. I’ll be okay after I wash my face.”

At school, Inoo is back to his normal self. And Daiki ends up watching Inoo for most of the time they are in class. After the last lesson, some of the students are lingering in the class room, talking about what they want to do for this year’s bunkasai.

“Haunted house!!” Keito says.

“Nooo… I want something with food!” Yuto whines.

Inoo laughs. “I want that… you know, takoyaki!! Let’s make a takoyaki stall!”

“Nooo, I want something that will attract cute girls!”

“Butler café!”

Daiki just stands back and watches his classmates throw different ideas. Suddenly he feels someone touch his hand near his pocket. He turns his head, his eyes widen to see Inoo standing next to him, with his hand secretly touching Daiki’s hand. Daiki turns his head back ahead when he feels Inoo hook his long finger with his own. Daiki tries so hard not to blush when Inoo doesn’t want to let go of him.

“No way! I don’t want to wear tight and button-up tuxedo for the butler café,” Inoo shakes his head against the idea.

Daiki doesn’t say anything because his mind is too full of Inoo. Inoo-chan, you’re so daring! What if someone sees us? Why do you do this in public?!

Daiki has to wait until they are back into their bedroom just before dinner time. “Inoo-chan! Why did you do that?!”

Inoo grabs Daiki and pulls him for a kiss. He grins afterwards, “Because I’m your boyfriend and I can do whatever I want with you.”

Daiki can’t get mad anymore. “Don’t do it again… you don’t want others to see…” Daiki can’t say it anymore because Inoo is kissing him again.

Suddenly there is a loud knock on the door. “Inoo-chan, let’s go out for ramen. Tottsu is paying!”

Inoo pulls out, grinning at Daiki’s swollen lips. He pecks on Daiki’s cheek and whispers, “Let’s continue this tonight.” Inoo shouts at the door as he grabs his phone from his bag. “Coming! Wait for me!”

Daiki blinks his eyes after Inoo slams the door behind him, leaving Daiki alone with the heat and wetness linger on his lips.

“What the heck…?” Daiki can only sigh.

I want to protect Inoo, but Inoo seems to be fine on his own.
I wonder if I truly deserve someone like him
but…
I love him so much.

A/N:
Hello, sorry for the late update. I am still not in the mood for writing. And the weather has been hot lately. All I want to do is eating ice cream or drinking soda with lots of ice. To be honest, I don’t know when I can update any fic. But whenever I have the mood, I always write. Just not sure when I can complete the chapters.
Thank you for reading and liking my fics. I’ve been thinking of posting all the pieces of my writings (just fragments of conversation or random paragraphs that I jotted down without a full story). My laptop is on the verge of dying, yet I still can’t afford to buy a new one. Just to save all my writings in one place, I probably post them here. So please don’t be confused why there will be new posts without a beginning nor end.
