Once a month the kids go on a field trip and today was the day. At first we went to these tombs that are world heritage sites but they were doing something (I think it was some type of re-enactment) so we had to come up with another place to go. I find it amazing that we were going to go to ancient tombs to place running games and such. But it is so cool that that type of thing is near me. So we ended up going to a park on the river and the kids just ran around and such. It was nice. What I found weird was that during snack time the kids were so eager to just give the teachers food (and good food at that).
After we came back and I got my second group of kids (I guess I should explain how the school works, so next paragraph) and I had to teach them science. Most of the time we fumbled with a stupid experiment, but I liked teaching science. My parents are never going to let me hear the end of that one. But it was fun wowing kids with the rubber pencil trick.
Right, so my school. The morning/main session is basically a pre-school. The kids are Korean age 5-7 (which means American age 4-6ish). That session starts (sorta) at 9:30 and goes to 2:25. The afternoon session, from 2:30 to like 5:45 if for older kids who come after their regular school. Those kids don't stay for the whole time (I think they generally stay for like an hour and half). I don't know how old the oldest of them is, but I don't think they are older then like 8-9.
Korean age is different then American age. I haven't gotten it fully (and I don't think most westerners get it fully) but the gist is that when you are born you are 1 year old and then you age from there. But there is something weird where they count the time in the womb so even though my birthday isn't til Saturday I am either 22 or 23 already. I don't know.
