It had been years ago, but Ruki could still remember the exact color of his hair and the exact shape of Kai's dimple.
It had been winder, cold, with a broken heater and vocalist who was served a lovely, tasteful yet cheap meal by Kai who asked if he could stay the night to save the cab money for something better.
Of course Ruki had said yes.
Of course they ended up sharing the same futon since the spare one smelled funny.
So there they were, in boxers and random band shirts, exchanging body heat under the heavy blanket.
"I can't do this, Ruki." Kai said, huffed and sat up, pulling his shirt off. "Sorry, but it's too uncomfortable."
Ruki rubbed his eyes, smudging little leftovers of mascara. "What's wrong? I was almost asleep."
"I can't sleep like this." Kai said, ruffling his already messy hair.
"Like with me? I don't snore nor kick, relax." He pulled the blanket back up to his chin, wriggling his nose unconsciously.
"With clothes on. I'm sorry, but I have to sleep naked." There was shifting and pulling and pushing until boxers fell to the ground with a low rustling sound. "I'm sorry."
A mouthy yawn escape the younger. "Come on, lie down, it's getting cold." He pulled his legs up a bit.
Kai, scooting to gain distance, rolled onto his side, looking at Ruki all huddled up in pillows and blanket. There was something about him he couldn't quite put a finger on. He had been a little shocked as a chilly hand wrapped around his bicep, pulling him closer.
"I said it's getting cold." Ruki mumbled, probably half asleep once more.
Instinctively he petted Ruki's head, his face heating up just seconds later as feet touched his rather warm legs.
"Goo' night." Ruki said with a relaxing exhale, sinking deeper into the warmth he just found.
"Night." Kai said, closing his eyes, trying to settle down himself.
Then, though, there had been a kiss missing it's target and planting itself somewhere on Kai's chin.
Kai felt the need to set things right.
