Bumbling in the snow
Yesterday ended up going just fine. I actually had a lot of fun. I love the girls that I worked with. One of them is Chelsey, the girl I've been talking to a lot about my ED and she's been helping me. We talked about family and being rednecks and stuff like that...while we cut a TON of raw beef. I'm so glad she was helping me because it usually makes me feel sick to be around meat, but I didn't feel sick at all. There were two other girls in my area and we all laughed and worked hard and had fun. I even singed some arm hair off because I got too close to the flame of the stove. Everyone was so worried, but I though it was hilarious and I couldn't stop laughing. I kept telling them I was fine and not to worry at all. I don't ever care when I get hurt. It doesn't bother me one bit. Anyways, I don't have to go in today because the girl I subbed for is all better and she's making up the day she missed in my place. So I have time to read and do homework. And what am I doing with my time? Catching up on lj, haha while drinking Vanilla Coke Zero, mmmmmm :)
Last night I went to a Thai restaurant. It's called Thaifoon: A taste of Asia. I had to go with a few other friends from class and we had to grade the restaurant. We had to grade it on the service, food, atmosphere, and sanitation. We were give $40 for the assignment too so that was really nice. The restaurant is in Salt Lake so we had to drive about an hour, but it was really nice. I had a great time. I got to talk to a good friend who I haven't seen much this semester because we've all been so busy. We got some great food too. The three of them got two meals and an appetizer to split and I got a meal of my own because I wanted tofu (I'm vegetarian). It was so delicious!! The tofu was softer than I like, but the sauce and vegetables were amazing. I was able to bring a little home and I'm looking forward to devouring it later :) We passed the restaurant with flying colors because everything was so great, even the service. And we had to ask to see the back and our waitress double checked and said we could. It was bigger than I thought it would be. It had a big kitchen and big storage area. I was impressed. Then the drive home was great too. Except it was snowing really hard. Really, really hard. But our guy, Dan, has a nice car and he's a good driver too so we made it back safe and sound.
So something really funny happened while we were walking to the restaurant. It's located in a mall so we to park in a parking garage and walked the rest of the way. It was snowing so hard!! So we weren't looking where we were going very well because of all the blowing snow. First, one girl got distracted by all the snow and almost went up the wrong side of the escalator. Then while we were walking I step on a grate and my heel got stuck!!! But I kept moving and out came my foot!! So I was trying to hop on one foot while my friend yanked my shoe out of the grate. Last, but definitely not least, Dan was walking and the sidewalk turned into a fountain, but he didn't realize it and he stepped into it!! He thought it was a step down and continuation of the sidewalk, but it was most definitely a fountain, hahahahah!!! Needless to say, he jumped out of it very quickly. Then we all rushed into the restaurant laughing heartily about our embarrassing bumblings in the bad weather. This made the evening more funny and great. I'm so glad I was in this group for this assignment because I had such a great time.
