"Mitsu," Tamamori says as he walks through the door. "Fuma is leaking."
"And?" It's nothing odd, so he keeps his eyes focused on the chess game he's playing with Fujigaya.
"It won't stop. I think he's broken." He pauses, as if he's remembering something. "He looks a bit like Kento did before he..." Kitayama flies up at that, rushes to where Tamamori had come from.

Fujigaya arrives just seconds after Kitayama, compresses in his hands. There's three smooth knife holes in his chest, each between his ribs starting from about a decimeter above his navel, and Fujigaya has to press against them himself, Kitayama's hands soaked with blood already. With him dealing with the bleeding, Kitayama rips the duct tape from Fuma's face, and he almost chokes on the first breath through his mouth. Kitayama checks the pulse before he unties his hands; it's weak, very weak. Fuma coughs a couple of times and with shaky hands he wipes a streak of blood off his lips, but he doesn't see it. Kitayama notices but doesn't tell him, even though there's no doubt something is very wrong. In the corner of his eye he sees the blood welling out of his stomach, and it looks like Fujigaya's efforts aren't doing much for him. Turning towards the door he sees Senga approaching, yet he doesn't come into the room. Instead there's the unmistakable sound of him throwing up, but there's no time for comforting words.
"For gods sake, will someone call the doctor?!"

Yokoo is already on the phone, twisting the cord around his finger as he tries to speak as fast and as clearly as possible. Their private doctor's phone is old and they both have to repeat what they're saying at least a couple times.
"The clinic car will be back in ten minutes and it'll take him another fifteen to get here!" he shouts in the direction of the others once the doctor's words come through.
"He won't last another 25 minutes!" Fujigaya shouts back, and forgets to lower his voice when he thanks Miyata for the additional compresses.
"I'll get him here in 10!" Nikaido is throwing on his coat as he grabs the keys to Fujigaya's car, and it's not long before they hear the engine start. Even though it is much faster than the doctor's car it'll take a lot for him to drive there and back that fast, especially in the dark, but that's all they've got, and they just hope he won't run into something or someone while they do their best to keep Fuma alive.

Fuma's hands are still now, and the only sign of him still being conscious is the weak whines of pain that comes with every breath he takes.
"I think his lung has been punctured," Kitayama says, pretty sure that it no longer matters if Fuma hears or not. He seems to have given up anyway. On the other side of him Fujigaya keeps trying to stop the bleeding, red stained not only on his skin but up his sleeves as well. Yokoo appears by the door, holding towels that he puts down next to them; Fujigaya grabs one immediately, switches it with the soaked compresses that no longer do their purpose.
"He's so pale..." Miyata mumbles, and it's the first time Kitayama actually looks at his face and not at all the blood - the red seems even redder when his eyes focus on Fuma's skin.

In the middle of the chaos stands Tamamori, staring in morbid fascination. When someone finally notices the lack of action from him, it's Yokoo, who turns to Miyata.
"Take them to the library." Even though it's obvious he's referring to Tamamori and Senga, Miyata hesitates for a second before he turns around in silence. He finds Senga right outside the door, teary-eyed and sick, but there's not much for him to do other than pat him on the back and tell him to come. Tamamori is more difficult, he wants to watch. Luckily Miyata knows his tricks and manages to persuade him into leaving.
"Miyacchi," he says as they head for the library, "Do we have to throw him away if he doesn't stop leaking? I don't mind keeping him even if he doesn't move."

They hear the sound of Senga throwing up again, but they don't react. Kitayama can't feel Fuma's pulse anymore and tries pumping his chest to get his heart moving, and he knows that if they could have, they should have driven him to the doctor instead of having the doctor come, but how would they explain the wounds? It doesn't take much to figure out they've been made on purpose, and this doctor is the only one they know they can trust not to tell on them (as long as they pay) - this is the second time Tamamori's playing ends up fatal. In that way, he's lucky he has his rich father, involved in the big companies, but Kitayama suspects it's exactly because of his father he has become what he is.

Miyata isn't sure what feels worse, the fact that Tamamori doesn't feel bad, that he seems to enjoy the chaos and the others' desperation to keep together what he has broken, or that when this is over, when Fuma's body has been covered and carried away, they'll have to hand over a new youngster for him to play with. Another youngster that will surely meet the same fate, no matter what they do to prevent it. But either he does it here where they can hide it, or he'll find his own way to hurt people and be found out, which would mean the end of his father's business.

"I won't let him have Marius," Fujigaya mumbles once Kitayama stills. "I won't."
"That's not for us to decide," says Yokoo, "we can only follow his father's orders." There's a dark, dangerous shine in Fujigaya's eyes when he turns to look at him, and even though he says nothing both Yokoo and Kitayama know what he's thinking. They don't comment on it, and he knows they won't try to stop him.
