1) I am a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (
Stampin' Up! Website Ok so I'm only mostly official since my stuff hasn't arrived yet but I'm signed up, I've got my ID #, etc etc. I'm officially a tool of the Stamping/Scrapbooking/Crafting world. Being a tool is expensive but I really hope I will enjoy this as much as I am told I would. So yeah, I'll be spending what little to no $$ I have on more crafting supplies. Although, as a contractor I do get to write off my crafting expenses, driving, gas, etc for tax purposes - not that I'll earn enough to make a difference =P But it's nice to know. But yeah I won't go on about this since it's only really exciting for me =P
2) I've got a job! Ok well sort of. I have that Tutoring job now but don't officially have a student... yet. There is actually one student I will probably start meeting with next week (this is not so great as I have an exam next week but whatever). The strange/cool thing is this kid is Filipino and the family requested a Tagalog-speaking Tutor. this is ridiculously bizarre because most Filipino families (including those in the Philippines) know English as a 2nd language. You woudln't have to know Tagalog to live in the Philippines essentially (it'd help though I'm sure). But the fact that they requested someone who was Tagalog speaking makes it nice for me because I applied just in time - they rushed my training just so I could be a tutor for this kid. Although now I'm a little... worried because really what I know is Tag-lish. I understand more than I can speak and I certainly can't write and can hardly read.... so I don't quite know how this will go. o.o
Oh yeah by applying for this job I found out how expensive it is to get a Background check and what not... $40+! And it's $50 or more for FBI and other things. Jeebus. If all goes well within the next 3 months the company will reimburse me for the $40+ which will be nice. But since the job pays $20/hr that makes the $40 more reasonable. Unfortunately I'm not a contractor so I can't write off any expenses ( mileage, gas, misc. supplies, etc) but eh we'll see. The nice thing is I can keep my online tutoring job which pays crap but hey, it's a little extra and I need every penny I can get.
That said, I'm going to wait for this kid to not show up and hopefully try to squeeze a nap in before I cram for a quiz tonight.
I'm sorry I haven't commented on people's LJs I do read them! I swear! If it makes you feel any better I am more interactive with LJ than my dA account which is swamped w/ messages and journals ^^;
