[NAME:] Maggey Byrde
[AGE:] 24
[GENDER:] Female
[STATUS:] Single...for now! (*cue dramatic music*)
[SEXUALITY:] Straight
[FRIENDS:]
Phoenix Wright- Having defended and gotten her two complete acquittals, Maggey has nothing but the utmost respect when it comes to him. She trusts him more than anyone and knows she can always go to him for help. She kept his business card after their first meeting and calls it her most prized possession.
Maya Fey- Maggey likes Maya and thinks she is a great assistant for Phoenix. The two girls are very alive personality-wise, so I believe they’d get along great.
Dustin Prince- Maggey’s friend and coworker for six months up until his death, rumors started to spread that the two were dating and even thinking of marriage. Maggey blames herself and her bad luck for his death.
Dick Gumshoe- Ever since she first entered the force and found herself being mentored by him, Maggey has respected and trusted Gumshoe. She believes him to be a great detective and a man with a good heart who is always looking out for her. She had a brief falling out with him during her second time on the stand, believing that he should have thrown facts away to say straight out in court that he believed she was innocent. After being declared Not Guilty, she realized her mistake with the help of Phoenix and went so far as to buy Gumshoe a new coat to show her appreciation towards him.
[ENEMIES:]
Richard Wellington- Maggey will never forgive this man. In her eyes, he had no right to kill Dustin when she was already so eager to return his phone to him, but is glad that Phoenix put him in jail where he belongs.
Jean Armstrong- Maggey was very thankful after meeting Jean and receiving both a job and perfume to enhance her happiness. She refused to believe that he would attempt to frame her for the murder of Glen Elg until Phoenix finally convinced her. Even after understanding the position he was in, she still feels very betrayed and does not want to socialize or work for him ever again.
Furio Tigre- Not only did this man frame her for murder, but he got her a Guilty sentence in court too. Maggey was very convinced by his Phoenix impersonation (He said he just got a suntan!!) and is still a bit embarrassed she didn’t realize he was a fake.
[OCCUPATION:] She works serving people at the Rusty Gust Saloon
[HOBBIES:] Looking for that one moment of good luck, watching court proceedings, anything outside or that you can get your hands dirty in.
[LIKES:] Heavy weight championship (of something)- She likes Gutsen Brawn, good luck, weenies, friendly and honest people, animals.
[DISLIKES:] Bad luck, dishonest people, betrayal. (Prior to contrary belief, she does not hate weenies.)
[STRENGTHS:] Completely optimistic and good hearted, Maggey’s enthusiasm can rub off on those around her. She is also very strong emotionally, as is shown when Dustin is killed and despite how sad she is, she keeps on a brave face, knowing that the real killer will be brought to justice. She also thinks she has good self defense moves as is demonstrated by her “Maggey kick” she wants to use on Phoenix to help jog his memory.
[WEAKNESSES:] Bad luck follows her everywhere and it has a tendency to latch onto the people around her. Her optimism and trust of others can lead her astray. She believed in Phoenix Wright so much that she didn’t even take a moment to make sure he was the actual Phoenix Wright.
[APPEARANCE:] Maggey is a bit on the shorter side, only about 5’2” with short brown hair that she keeps pinned up on both sides to keep out of her face. She wears glasses and is usually seen wearing short skirts as part of her different uniforms. She believes herself to have a charming smile and a shapely figure.
[PERSONALITY:] Maggey Byrde is a sweet girl, with a big heart and lots of enthusiasm. She is easily excited and always tries to look on the bright side of things. Though not the brightest gal around, she is always eager to please and once she decides she trusts you, it will take a lot to get on her bad side (Unless you are Gumshoe, who she thinks of highly as he was once her superior).
A few of her habits from the academy (I hope that is where they are from) have followed her away from the police force. One would be her habit of calling people 'sir' even when she is not addressing her superiors. She still salutes (and often) and will usually agree with something by saying 'Roger'.
She really loves her jobs (all of them) and gets really into them.
[BACKGROUND:] Maggey’s life can be summed up as a lifetime of misfortune. It all started when she was six months old and she fell from the ninth floor of her apartment building. From that day on, anything that can go wrong, has. Having suffered through many natural disasters, Maggey has also: been hit by cars, received food poisoning from many different dishes, failed practically every test she has ever taken, and (her one true vice) never won a game of tic-tac-toe.
It got to be so bad that she was even given nicknames- ‘Goddess of Misfortune’ in college and ‘Lady Luckless’ at the academy.
Upon entering the police force, Maggey met Detective Dick Gumshoe, a man she would come to respect and trust greatly. His kind nature and the fact that he was always looking out for her did not go unnoticed or unappreciated.
Finally, a small stroke of luck reached her and she met Dustin Prince. The two hit it off and soon became good friends (though most people believed them to be involved). Maggey probably believed her luck was finally changing when her bad luck turned around and got her again- Dustin was murdered and she was the prime suspect. However, she was defended by the defense attorney Phoenix Wright, and received an acquittal as the real killer was put behind bars.
It was right after that ordeal that she was fired from the police force. After a bit of searching, Maggey found a job as a waitress at a small, but fashionable French restaurant called Trés Bien. It was here that she was accused of murder… again. Suspected of putting poison into the programmer Glen Elg’s Javaccino, she looked to Phoenix Wright to help her again. However, she was tricked and the imposter Phoenix got her a Guilty sentence.
Thanks to Gumshoe’s help, Maggey was given a retrial with the real Phoenix Wright defending her. Through a long trial it is revealed that her boss, Jean Armstrong, helped to set her up to take the fall for the crime. Maggey is released and after thanking Phoenix and quitting her job at Trés Bien, she starts off down the road on a new chapter in her life.
Since the last time she saw Phoenix, Maggey has been very busy. After getting hired (and then fired) from a few odd jobs, she has found a stable job at last. Working at Jake Marshell’s bar. She hopes to keep that job for a good, long time.
She has also been spending a lot of time with Gumshoe recently.
