For the last couple of weeks, I've been going to physical therapy for the busted disc in my back. I go for about two hours, and at the end I'm a spongy puddle of sweat.

It's so freaking hard because the muscles I need strengthened in my lower back are so not easily worked. I am bending and stretching and pretty much twisting myself into a vaguely pretzel shape. I am trying hard not to judge my fellow therapy-goers too harshly as they gently step on and off the stepper or stretch their arms while I have to put my legs practically over my head or lay on my back on a balance ball and balance on one leg. Bums.

I can definitely tell the difference, though. Soon I'll be crushing beer cans with my freakishly strong lumbar muscles.
