Wow. Everything and everyone I've ever known is changing. I went to Hanalani Schools from K-4 to 9th grade. Coming from a small, "easy" school to one of the biggest and hardest schools in the country is needless to say, a tremendous change. It's like moving from some small town in Tennessee to New York City. Culture shock? Yes.
I've never been the new girl. I guess attending Hanalani was safe, because I was friends with almost everybody. I loved the relationships I had with people, and that I actually knew everyone's names and personalities by heart. But I just have to pick myself back up and stop living in the past.
I hope that I can stay in touch with my old friends, but that I'll also be able to make new ones just like them. I want real relationships with people. Not shitty fake friends who will just turn their backs and talk crap about you the second you leave the table.
