We really don't know what the world is tuned in to. Maybe that limits us as an information service. We are trying to focus in parts on new music, introduce you perhaps to bands you might not know. To be fair, apart from people who are here because of our previous incarnations (Jenni, we hardly knew thee), anyone who finds this place probably knows more about the bands than we do. I mean, like, a lot more. Like what they had for breakfast and how many sugars they have in their tea.
So. We talk about, I dunno, Cutting Pink With Knives and to us that's quite a new band. That's pretty fresh. If the band is on the cover of NME it's a bit cheap for us to tell you about them as though making the big reveal. However about GoodBooks though, they're getting a lot more press but they're still a relatively unknown act, aren't they? Or are they?
We've known about Infants for about three days now. That's quite exciting. We've known about O Fracas for absolutely ages, was it a year ago they played our local indie outfitter to a crowd of twenty (one of which was dance - hi). Are they better known now? Does the fact that the people we know know them mean they're any less well known than anyone else? Amusement Parks On Fire are on their third album or something, second maybe, they're a well known band now, right? Do you know who they are?
We're going to start talking about some of the 'slightly less well know (but we're not sure)' bands over the next week or so. Feel free to pipe up any time and tell us if a band is well know, if Christopher Moyles plays their singles every day or if they were number six in the charts last week. We haven't got time to find them and check on their progress.
Thanks for your continued support.
