Feel The Music
I've just written up the Pure Love for Jolly Music. I do love Jolly Music it's true. I'm now writing a review for Field Music's eponymous first album. Oh my word, the more I listen to it, the more I talk about it, this isn't a revie, it is a Pure Love piece. It's crazy, if you click the Field Music tag on this journal and read through the journey I've been on with the band. The extent to which I didn't care back in the day, to which I struggled to understand the plaudits to the gushing praise I lavish on them now, I've grown into them in a way I don't think I have with any other band and maybe that's made it even more satisfying. It took me absolutely ages to buy their album. I didn't trust them, I thought "it'll be nice but I can't afford nice". It's not just nice, though. It's cute, sure, it's a little twee around the edges but this is razor sharp, quick witted ubermusic. It's absolutely wonderful and I almost missed. There was a time I was buying their singles for the sake of it, now you have to hold me back from buying their latest album for the one track I don't already have.
