Their Dirty Reversion

Mystery Jets are an awkward bunch to judge. It took us a while to get into Zoo Time then suddenly it was great, then the follow up single wasn't so great and then neither was Zoo Time and then it was again and now we're just not sure. Anyway, they're re-releasing You Can't Fool Me Dennis one of their most, hmmm.., middle class songs. Yeah, I know, but it is. It's just exceptionally suburban. Maybe that's why it bugs me.

However, despite being so privet hedged my word do they enlist some fine, fine remixers. Only a few that we've got hold of but, I mean, we're talking about Justice, Riton and Zongamin here, as well as a fine Noisettes remix. That's absolutely premier league and when it comes to roughing up the edges of a sound that's perhaps a bit too comfortable (not conformist, mind, comfortable), those first three couldn't have been much better picked unless you'd plumped for Audiobullys and Squarepusher. Which, heaven knows, they might yet.

Mm. Squarepusher remixing indie songs. Now that's a prospect.

justice, the noisettes, zongamin, mystery jets, riton
