Every couple of weeks or so, to keep the releases section (and ourselves) updated on what's coming out in the world of secular music we go through the websites of everyone in our links list. Basically, all our favourite artists. We have discovered the information is often more up to date on their MySpaces so this time around we've also been going to those. Good grief. I swear. If I want to LISTEN TO YOUR POXY SONG I WOULD PRESS PLAY ON IT.
There's supposedly an option in MySpace to stop other people's songs playing automatically. Heaven knows that doesn't work.
Anyway, changing tact last night was The Longcut and Shitdisco. Shitdisco sounds a bit average but The Longcut were supoib. As pounding and progressive as they sound on CD but louder and with better lights. I perhaps would have liked a bit more re-interpretation of songs which clearly are songs that were designed to be live. On CD they sound like a live band except on stage they sound like their CDs. In fact, I swear A Quiet Life and Transition were shorter last night than they are on CD. Still, they were blinding and I love it. Next up is the NME tour show thing. Boy Kill Boy headline, whatever. I'm going for perhaps The Long Blondes, probably The Automatic (who have grown on me with their latest single which sounds really good - an English We Are Scientists I guess) and, whisper it, ¡Foward, Russia!. That exclamation mark is theirs. The next one is ours. Woo! Anticipation is go. And that there will be some love. That night there will be a rukus yeah. Regardless.
¡forward russia!,
the automatic,
shitdisco,
myspace,
