It's really starting to hit me that I'm graduating in May and I need to get my shit together so I can get a job. It's pretty weird. I'm both somewhat excited and somewhat terrified. This semester went by way too fast ( Read more... )

it's funny to me that there can be "good" livejournal posts and "bad" livejournal posts. maybe we should start rating peoples.

on a scale from 1 to 10, 1 being sucky and 10 being the most interesting lj post EVAR, this one recieves a 6.5

i am predicting an increase in livejournal postage though as finals approach. i always seem to want to post random shit online when i have something better to do.

A 6.5? Really, you are too kind. If I had to rate your comment on my post on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 7.2499999(9 repeating) based mostly on your novel ratings idea. In fact, everything should really be numerically rated, because everything has value(or lack thereof), and should be quantified so that we can know instantly what is above or below our personal threshold of dismissal and/or consumption. Clearly, only things that are above average are worthy.

I'm sure I'll be doing something. I don't know what it will be yet. Do you have any plans?

whatever you do, don't go to grad school. seriously. a real job is looking better and better by the minute.

Finding a real job is definitely my plan, but grad. school is still a lingering thought in the back of my mind. I welcome any confirmation that I'm making the right choice, but I'm sorry that you aren't enjoying yourself. At least the semester will be over soon!

I'll be back in Georgia in three weeks exactly. I don't know if it's the grad school or the place or an amalgamation of both, I just can't seem to like it as much as I hoped I would. A 100+ page thesis looming in the distance definitely doesn't help.

derf, if you can get a paid assistantship, obviously you want to go to grad school. Take it from dr nate!

hah, I totally made a livejournal post with that conversation in mind.

job searching is so terrifying. I have no idea where I'm going to be after May and it's the first time in my life that there's that uncertainty of what's next and yeah, terrifying.

You should be writing more LJ posts. In that conversation the other night I forgot to mention you have the best LJ picture ever and I would love to see it more often.
