I started loving my Thursdays very recently. The reason is not my day off, but Ron's, which basically means the ability of immersing ourselves into some culture weekly. In fact, I love spending my time with him, because I do find him intellectually stimulating and because he never shuts up (if he's silent for a minute that's a sign that something's wrong).
Anyway, last Thursday at 9am Ron picked me up from my appartment and we went to a very lovely place close to Harvard Sq to have breakfast. I was pretty sleepy even though I had a good sleep, and rather slow, waiting for my coffee to kick in and listening to Ron's odd stories. When I finished my fruit salad, we walked a little bit to one of the three Harvard Art Museums (the Fogg Museum, to be more precise), where we spent about 5 hours.
The exibition has some really good artworks like The Pomegrante by Picasso or Study of Trees by Cezanne. And then...the moment I stepped into the third-floor gallery, I fell in love. Beach Scene by Reginald Marsh was just love at first sight. I got paralyzed, I'm hooked ever since. I still don't know what makes me so attracted to this painting, but I just can't get my eyes off it. Maybe its just the style that makes it looks like a poster or the colors. Honestly, I don't know, but what I know for certain is that I want a reproduction. A really good one.
