More things I've seen in Sweden that are unusual in little ways.
Mariefred (spelling?) is a small Swedish town where Gripsholm royal castle is located. After visiting the castle, my friend A and I ate there at a small mom-and-pop cafe. This tiny establishment had the cutest, most ingenious sidewalk tables I've ever seen. The sidewalk itself was merely a sliver, and one could never imagine it could provide enough space for outdoors tables -- at least not by American standards. :-)

...that does not make you feel good about yourself, but gets your attention.
This semaphore, seen at a bus stop in Mariefred, is meant to be used to let a bus driver know there are people waiting at the bus stop. Otherwise the driver won't stop. I guess the last person to board a bus is supposed to return the semaphore into vertical position. It's a good idea, but... this particular semaphore (I don't know about others elsewhere) naturally rests in the tilted position and resists attempts to be made vertical, hence is quite useless. :-)
