Almost overnight Erika has become quite a social butterfly. If she's out in public, you can be sure that in any given 5 minute interval she will approach a stranger and say: "My name is Erika. What's your name?" People have been indulging her so far. They keep answering her questions even when she asks their names over and over again. After she asks a particular person's name 3 times within half an hour, one may be justified in wondering if this preschooler's body has been possessed by a soul of an Alzheimer's victim. Maybe she thinks the name question serves not to obtain information, but to make small talk. Anyway, it's a bit embarrassing. But not as embarrassing as her other schtik, asking male strangers "you're not my daddy?" As if she didn't have a perfectly good daddy at home. :-) Well, the strangers have been understanding in this area too. After all, most men she approaches have children (that's how we run into them, in places like playgrounds).
