some ones and some zeroes

Hello livejournal how have you been? I've been away a bit, sorry, months behind probably, and scrolling backwards LJ you refused to let me look at the feed past a few pages backwards in time so I'll have to look at people's actual pages if I want to see what they've been up to, which for the most part I haven't really got time to do unfortunately.

suffice it to say I have been a busy bee, and depressed, things I really don't feel I ought to post about on here, but I am coping, and interesting things are afoot for the future.

Tattooing: going slowly, oh so slowly but surely forward. live in Boston or area and want some ink cheap? email me! thank you. while I'm still cheap.

music: joined the Diamond Dogs, a David Bowie tribute act, as the understudy bassist, but with the understanding that the regular bassist is leaving within the year at which point I will be the regular bassist. this band is fun, and makes actual money, so yay! next gig 6-11 in Cranston RI.

my band, Mojoceratops, getting ready to release a live CD, and then a studio disc of previously unreleased material, there is a bit of that on the live disc as well. that reminds me I really must finish up the cover art this week. we're playing in Tewksbury tomorrow night. last week we did an open mic night in Malden, we'd played there once before about a month prior, someone came up to me and begged to hear one of my songs, which I couldn't oblige him and play since I didn't have the bass with me that I can play it on, I normally have 4 basses on stage, and now that I have the 2 string, it's going to be 5 eventually, sigh. still it was nice to have a request like that, this cat heard this song once, a month ago, and it was stuck in his head, he had to hear it again, that was pretty awesome.

went to a Bass meet-up for people from Talkbass.com, that was cool, I haven't talked to a room full of bassists since I was in college. tried out a radial fretboard Dingwall bass, a rare opportunity
it’s more ergonomic, but playing upper register chords was basically impossible. and unlike most bassists, I do a lot of that. I might look into parallel angled frets, I wonder if that would work better.

saw Cure for Pain, the Mark Sandman story in it's area debut recently, got to meet the other members of Morphine at last, most of them, toe is in the door there. I secretly hope to play with them in the future. the night was amazing and poignant. strange things occurred before and after the film.

women continue to confound me. but things are curiously ok in that dept, for the most part. nuff sed.

house fixing- continues to pay the rent. I still struggle with ADD to stay organised and not overcommit myself.

lots of changes recently, and I don't like change, like a cat, speaking of which, one of my mum's had to be put down, that was sad.

like the sign says, "keep calm and, I dunno, just keep calm" wanted to post that one but couldn't find it.

follow me on tumblr, why not? I don't post much.
