Golden is quite the story teller. I wonder how faithful the film will be. Zhang Ziyi is a good choice, I think. Funny how Michelle Yeoh is paired up with her again ;)

i think all the main characters are played by chinese actors. i wonder why they didn't cast someone who is japanese to play the lead role. is it because zhang ziyi is a better known actress? did you hear that chow yun fat is going to be in pirates of the carribean 3?

i am sure there are plenty of great japanese actors, so you're probably right -- for a n.american audience, they'd need some notable names in order to sell tickets. probably a business decision more than anything else.

chow yun fat in pirates of the carribean? that just sounds odd, but cool :)

Hands down one of my favorite books.
It was such an amazing tale, told in such a simple and eloquent way.
Holy shit, I can't wait to see the film.

hopefully, the film will be as good as the book. i'm excited, i think the film will do quite well.

the movie doesn't come out until december. so you still have plenty of time to read it.

she is SOO cute! although however.. i heard that a lot of chinese don't like her? hating? jealous? no idea really but i think she's an great actress.. funny how the director thought she was jap or something i heard? hahaahaa. i think the whole movie are people are all eth and very few japs staring in it? not sure.. just HEARD, thats all.

zhang ziyi is so pretty! i know, some think they should hire japanese actors for the film. well, it's not really an asian film. it's american film, so i don't really see the big fuss over it. so far from the pictures, zhang ziyi fits the role perfect.

the movie looks good, but too bad it doesn't come out until december.
