Well, we made it. We moved in, with a giant trailer in tow, maneuvering around the cramped streets between 9-12 at night while trying to unload the trailer and get it out of the way for people. It was nuts. Next time, a truck should do the trick.

Moving is no fun. I agree with Jon, who said that it should be punishment for crime doers. They can move things, from one house to another and then move them back. Ha!

We got a pull out loveseat, and after prolonging the getting of it for a couple hours while trying to find where we can ninja drop our trailer off, we had a male hooker help us load it into the car since I am apparently a weakling. Turned out later that I just held it in the wrong areas, and I could help Tim move it somewhat. I had so many bruises after though.

But we're here... and our apartment is bigger than the closet with a side nook that we remember it to be, so that is good.

We couldn't do much the first week or two because of Leia getting seperation anxiety and sounding like she was dying if we left. While we were unloading stuff actually, some of the neighbors came out in there pjs wondering if we had a howling dog... was a little embarrasing. I think it was the stress of the move. We couldn't go places, but I was content usually just people/dog watching the park outside our window for a while. Leia's fine now, we think. Marcella, our overly sensitive but sweet looney sculpture neighbor, would talk to her through the walls to try and calm her, so I don't know if she's continuing to do that, or if Leia is just used to it now. I'm hoping it's the latter.

I have a job too. I got the run around from the place I wanted to work at, since it was so close, but turns out they didn't have enough hours to hire me in... even though they just hired someone like a week before and knew I was coming in May... but whatever. I called up my back up option and I started two days after. I know work full time Friday-Tuesday at Tucker Pup's, a doggy day care. And maybe, since three people just quit, I will get to switch that to a normal Monday-Friday shin-dig. We'll see. But, it takes like an hour to get there because of the busy-ness, so my 9 hour day turns into an 11, which is not cool. But passing the hispanic guys working in the meat market shouting out at me makes me feel nice though. :P

Tim has been trying and applying to everything he can find, and one place called today to set up an interview for an internship next week. Hopefully it's paid, but if not, then he can still be an awesomely cute bum who makes me food. :)

We haven't explored much of Chicago yet, but now with Leia settling down, soon we plan on taking more trips around. We've been to the Lincoln Park Zoo, which is free! And on Sunday we plan to go see BB King at the Chicago Blues Festival, which is also free! And! There are Aldi's here! This place is pretty cool.
