While I sat at the dinner table griping about my license suspension I heard the television in the other room. My mother was watching the news and there was a short story of a woman who experienced the tsunami, she was forced to chose between saving one of the two children in her arms. Having chosen to hold onto the younger one, she found the other child several days later alive. With a chuckle my mother said "I couldn't have made that choice, I would have held onto both and we would have all died." After pondering her statement I only then began to realize what the people are going through over there. My lost license is trivial, I am in no position to be complaining about it. I could have lost Emily, having her ripped from my arms never to be clung to again. I had nothing left to do but cry.
