New keyboard is new

New keyboard is shiny well, more flat black than shiny, actually.  Very tasteful and glare-free.  New keyboard has excellent key feel, is comfortable, seems well made, and hasn't exhibited any glitches so far.  Key caps are crisply molded and seem well marked.

Time will tell.

By the way, NewEgg's photo is old.  Adesso's, not surprisingly, reflectsRead more... )

You people and your ergonomics! I got an IBM AT Space Saver to use at work. The intern took one look at it and offered to get me a new one! I let her know that I got it on purpose. :-)

Huh... I hate "ergonomic" keyboards. I have no idea why, but they always feel wrong and the angle is wrong, and the keys are in the wrong place...

I want to like them, but they never fit me even a little bit.

My favorite keyboard of all time is the original Apple extended keyboard from 1988. I'm typing on one right now! I've tried the current apple extended keyboard, and I think I like that one too, even though it's completely different from the 1988 version. You'd probably hate both.

The correct keyboard for you is the one that fits you and how you type. The Apple extended keyboard is actually one of the better OEM keyboards, IMHO.

What's amazing to me is that they had these fantastic keyboards back in '88, and then proceeded to make a series of suck-tastic keyboards for TWENTY YEARS, before coming out with the current keyboards. The current designs are the first ones that don't have horrible key feel since then.

I'd love to give ergonomic keyboards a try; however, just walking up to a display unit and putting my hands on it isn't enough. I need the thing hooked up to a computer, at a desk I am sitting (not standing) at. Give me a few minutes of actual use, and then I can say whether I need an ergonomic keyboard. :/
