I had a save at the pool on Sunday. I pulled a little kid out of the deep end.
Yay.
I'm going skydiving on the 22nd. I've been waiting to do it for 11 years.
Yeah, I've wanted to skydive since I was 7.
I'm so sweet.
I finished The DaVinci Code. I didn't think I could hate the church any more than I already did, but I didn't have to get far into the book to realize I knew a lot less than I thought I did about the history of the catholic church. And it's funny, because everything I knew about it was taught to me primarily through the church. I therefore knew only what the clerics wanted to tell me about it, and that would be nothing that would make the church look as violent and oppressive as it really is. Well, historically. Was. Is. I knew it was bad, but I didn't know how bad.
The best part was when I brought this all to my mother, and talked to her about the heavy-handed and bloody approach the church took to ensuring feminine divinity was wiped out, and all she said about centuries of the abuse of women's rights was "Well, that's how people keep power." I laughed in her face.
I really, really hate catholicism now.
I still haven't found Tom. He's been working too much for me to break up with him. (Ha.) And I'm sure when he isn't working, he's out drinking and hooking up with more girls. Fuck that.
Man, I always end up with the drunk guys.
But he can go do what he wants, because I have other plans. The catch runner-up. Oh yes.
