❇ Summary: Kris, the heir to Wu Corporations, is set to marry the heir to Kim Enterprises, as agreed upon by both families. His friends Luhan and Yixing decide to be in charge of Kris’ bachelor party as it’ll be his last chance at freedom before following along with his father’s orders. But there’s something waiting for Kris at this bachelor party, something he wasn’t expecting but can appreciate.
“So Kris, you ready to get married?” Luhan grinned as he clapped Kris on the back. It was their weekly lunch get together, just him, Luhan, and Yixing. They had decided on a ramen shop. Yixing was slurping up his noodles, not caring that they were still hot. Kris just watched in wonder, not sure how Yixing wasn’t burning his tongue as he blew on his noodles several times before eating them.
“I guess but really, who is ever ready to get married?” Kris sighed into his bowl of noodles.
“You have a point.”
“I’m ready.”
Luhan and Kris turned to stare at Yixing who just smiled at them.
“You are?”
Yixing nodded as he drank some of his soup. “Yeah, I mean I’m at a good place in my life now, financially stabled with few bills and worries. I wouldn’t mind getting married if I found the right person.”
Luhan arched a brow. “Alright…well I am probably not going to get married for a while. I like my life and freedom as it is now. But Kris, on the other hand…”
“What? There’s nothing wrong with my life.”
“Except your parents picked out a bride for you. Which is so K-drama like.”
“Or archaic.”
Luhan stared at Yixing like he was an alien. “I don’t even want to know why you’re using a term like that. Anyway, aren’t you old enough to decide who you want to marry and when?”
“And aren’t you gay?” Yixing asked with a smile as he ate some noodles.
“I am bi-curious.”
Luhan snorted. “Yeah, when you stare at a guy’s ass more than a girl’s. Totally bi-curious.”
Kris glared at Luhan who just gave him a cheeky grin as he continued eating his noodles. He sighed, putting his feelings into eating his bowl of noodles, ignoring his two snickering friends beside him. He turned to give them each a glare. “We are no longer friends.”
“Yeah…keep telling yourself that.” Yixing smiled as he patronizingly patted Kris on the back.
Kris growled, causing Luhan and Yixing to laugh and make Kris spill some of his soup on his pants. This caused Luhan and Yixing to laugh harder.
“You guys are horrible friends.”
“But you love us anyway.”
“Against my better judgement.”
Yixing and Luhan beamed at Kris who felt a smile tugging at his lips. He couldn’t stay mad at them, considering they were some of his oldest friends and knew him better than he knew himself sometimes.
“Come on, go pay, and then we can go.” Kris wiped his mouth, setting his napkin by his bowl.
“Yeah, it’s your turn to pay, Lulu.” Yixing, head resting on Kris’ shoulder, grinned at Luhan who scowled.
“Alright, alright. Come on, you guys. Time to get back to work.” Luhan headed to the counter to pay as Yixing and Kris grabbed their things and headed for the door. They all piled into Kris’ car and headed back to the office for a few more hours of work.
Kris stared at his laptop, seeing the words but not absorbing them. His hands came up, running through his hair, messing up his neatly brushed hair.
Dear Kris,
We’re having dinner on Saturday with your fiancée and her family to discuss the wedding, which will hopefully happen in a few months’ time. Make sure you look your best. Stay healthy.
Sincerely,
Your mother and father
He let his head drop on his desk, not caring about the loud thud and sure to be red mark on his forehead. He didn’t realize his parents would have picked out a bride so soon. It was only last week they brought up the topic of marriage. He was only 25 and had just recently graduated from college. Why would marriage be happening now? Sure, he had been working for his dad’s company for 7 years but this was a bit too soon. He didn’t even get a chance to date anyone else; he would have had an almost nonexistent social life if it wasn’t for Luhan and Yixing dragging him out to go do things with them.
He didn’t even think, just grabbed his phone and dialed the first number to pop into his head.
“I’m meeting my fiancée and her family this weekend.”
Loud laughter filled the line. “Hahaha, that’s great. Well, don’t look too scary and try to be nice. I’m sure if you keep your mouth shut, you’ll sweep her off her feet. Just don’t glare or smile. They don’t do any good for a face like yours.”
“Asshole.”
“But you love me anyway. If you didn’t want the insults, you should’ve phoned Yixing instead. He wouldn’t have teased you in the same way. You know how he is.”
Kris gave a loud groan and hung up the phone.
The restaurant was in the upper part of town, filled with many brand names and wealthy people. Only the richest of the rich could dine where Kris and his parents were currently seated, waiting for his fiancée and family to arrive.
“Now remember son, this is an important meeting.”
“Yes, father.” Kris nodded his head as he smoothed the already smooth tablecloth in front of him. He followed his dad and stood up when 3 people approached their table, following the host. He bowed and shook hands with the man; he bent down and kissed the cheek of the man’s wife and the cheek of the woman who he supposed was his fiancée. He held out the chair for her as his father signaled to the couple to take a seat across from them.
Kris sat down across his fiancée and took a good look at her. She had a nice body, curves in all the right places, and was quite tall. He knew if they stood next to one another, they would make a striking couple, which must be part of the reason his father had arranged the match. He gave her a small smile, something to soften his face a little but not to completely ruin it, as Luhan would say. She returned it with a small smile of her own.
He stayed pretty silent throughout the meal, letting his father chat with the other man. Occasionally, he would make a comment when asked. He always had an ear tuned to the conversation as his mind wandered to other things. His fiancée seemed pleasant enough whenever she spoke, which was rarely. She had good manners, which was to be expected from such a family, if he heard his father’s praises right. When they got married, they could have a mutually beneficial arrangement.
Kris raised his glass as his father said a toast and met his fiancée’s gaze across the rim of his glass. He saw a light glint in her eye and instantly understood this would be a very beneficial mutual arrangement to the satisfaction of everyone present. His mouth quirked into a small smile as he gave her a slight nod in understanding and agreement.
The glasses clinked together, sealing the deal.
Kris walked into his apartment and froze in the doorway. Luhan and Yixing had matching grins on their faces from their perch on Kris’ couch. “What are you guys doing here?”
“We heard about your engagement and are here to begin planning your bachelor party.”
Kris shut the door, locking it before walking over to join his friends on the couch. “I just met my fiancée today and the date hasn’t even been set and you want to plan my bachelor party already?”
“Yeah.”
“And it’s already been announced, you know? The news just hit the press today.” Yixing turned on Kris’ TV where the local news station was discussing the upcoming nuptials of the heirs to Wu Corporation and Kim Enterprises.
Kris collapsed on his couch, hands in his hair. “Well, that was fast. But should’ve expected it. So what’s the date?”
“Uh, according to the news, it’s in a month.”
“A month?!?!?” Kris stood up in agitation. “How can they plan it so soon? We just met. This is insane.”
“Hence, the insane bachelor party we’re going to through you.” Luhan smiled as he slung an arm around Kris’ neck. “Now let’s get down to business. Do you want male strippers or female strippers?”
“Uh…neither. I do have a reputation to uphold.”
Luhan scoffed. “Oh come on. This is your bachelor party. Your parents are making you get married to some girl to expand your company. This is your last big hurrah before you’re settled into following your father’s orders full-time. So come on, let’s get crazy and wild.”
“But you know that’s not how I am.” Kris settled into his recliner. “Remember, I was the calm one, the one that got you and Yixing out of trouble. I don’t do wild parties.”
“Oh come on, Kris. Live a little for once in your life. This might be your only chance. And it’s a bachelor party. You’re allowed to get a little wild and crazy.”
“Not if it’s going to be broadcasted on the news and you know it will with my reputation.” Kris frowned, crossing his arms.
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I have connections to keep nosy reporters away.” Luhan came over, falling into Kris’ lap. “We’ll control what gets shown in the media to keep your reputation intact.”
Kris pushed Luhan off, causing said boy to fall to the floor. Luhan glared, rubbing his sore bottom. “Wow, that’s the thanks I get for keeping your precious reputation intact? Maybe I shouldn’t do it.”
“But you know you will ‘cause you’re my best friend.” Kris smiled brightly.
Luhan shielded his eyes. “Alright, alright, alright. Just stop smiling. It makes you too ugly.”
Kris reached out to smack the back of Luhan’s head.
Yixing just smiled from his perch on the couch. “So we can go crazy, yes?”
Kris sighed. “I know this is a big mistake but fine, why not? Just don’t get too crazy please.”
Luhan and Yixing shared matching grins. “Of course not.”
Kris checked his email for any business correspondences as he looked over some files. His weeks were busy with work and meetings with his parents, fiancée, fiancée’s parents, and the wedding planner. A lot had to be done between company dealings and wedding plans. At least Kris was the groom and so most of the planning was done by his fiancée, his fiancée’s mother, and his mother. He sighed as he set his work down.
Everything was happening too fast. He had thought he would have more time but he was wrong. He didn’t even get a chance to date anyone except for the few dates his parents had set up and the few people from college. He gave another sigh, placing his head in his hands.
“Having doubts?”
Kris looked up to see Yixing in the doorway, Luhan standing behind him. The two walked in, Luhan going to lounge on the couch and Yixing taking a spot in the chair across from Kris.
“Want to talk to Dr. Luhan and Dr. Yixing about your problems, Kris? What are these doubts you are having?” Yixing grabbed a pad and pen from Kris’ desk, crossing his legs and giving the appearance of someone who wanted to help and give advice.
“Knock it off, guys. Don’t you have work to do?”
“Look, we’re being serious here. We know you’re not exactly happy about this but you’re such a good son, listening to your parents and following orders. But we know you have your doubts. You’ve always had a bit of a romantic in you even if you hide it so much. But hey, we’re your oldest and closest friends. We know you. So talk.” Luhan came over and perched on Kris’ desk. “We’re not leaving until you talk to us.”
Kris sighed. “Fine. I’m just having doubts. She’s a nice girl and all. We’ll have a mutually beneficial relationship since we both know it’s for business. But I’m only 25. I was expecting a few more years before I got married. And call me a fool but I was hoping to marry for love instead of convenience like so many corporate marriages. But of course, being the good son I am, I listen to what I’m told and expected to do. So even though I have so little dating experience, I’m not going to get anymore.”
“Do you want more dating experience?”
“Yes, no, I don’t know. I mean I would like the chance to meet other people, find that one person for me, but now I’m never going to get that chance.”
“Technically you could if you have affairs.” Yixing and Kris stared at Luhan like he had two heads. “Alright, alright, sorry I mentioned it. But you know that’s how some corporate marriages work. There’s a mutual agreement to see other people as long as you’re discrete and many of these people have that down pact. You could do something like that.”
Kris just looked at Luhan who had his hands up in self-defense. “Alright, alright. I’ll be quiet. I know you’re not like that and don’t condone that behavior.”
“I hope you’re not like this, Luhan.”
“Of course not. I may sleep around but I’m monogamous. I don’t stand cheating. I’m sorry I ever suggested it.”
“Thank you. So anything else?” Kris looked at his two friends.
“Nope. Just hope you enjoy your bachelor party.” The two friends left with a wave and smile, Kris’ curses following them out the door.
Kris was very hesitant as his two friends blindfolded him. “What are you guys doing?”
“Taking you to your bachelor party of course. But we want it to be a surprise, hence the blindfold.”
“You know this doesn’t make me feel any better.”
“That’s alright. You’ll be feeling a lot better once we arrive.” Kris could tell Luhan was grinning as the two lead him out of his apartment into the waiting car. He heaved a sigh but allowed them to take them where they wished. It was a pretty silent car ride, just giggling and the radio as background noise.
Kris was pulled from the car and lead inside somewhere. He heard shushing noises before the blindfold was taken off.
Party poppers and streamers were blasted in his face. Kris blinked, trying to adjust to the light changes.
“What the hell, Luhan? Why are there party poppers and streamers in my face? What kind of bachelor party is this?” Kris stared at everyone gathered around.
“One where you get to enjoy yourself for once. So let go, start drinking.” Luhan shoved a glass of who knows what in his hand.
Kris looked around and decided to fuck it. He downed it in one go amidst the cheers of everyone there.
Kris lost track of all the drinks he’d had and all the people he talked with. Considering it was a party thrown by Yixing and Luhan, it was still relatively calm which Kris appreciated. As he walked around the room, talking and drinking with people, his eyes lit on someone he hadn’t seen in a while.
“Joonmyun! Hey, long time no see.” Kris smiled as he clapped Joonmyun on the back. “I didn’t know you’d be here.”
“Yeah, Yixing invited me.” Joonmyun smiled brightly at Kris. “Congrats on your upcoming marriage.”
Kris accepted the thanks, clinking his glass against Joonmyun and downing it in one go. Joonmyun gave a quiet chuckle after he sipped his drink. “Enjoying your party?”
“Sure I guess. Not really. I don’t know.” Kris scratched his head.
Joonmyun chuckled, a sound Kris had always enjoyed. “Drank a bit too much?”
“Not yet.” Luhan grinned as he slung an arm around Kris’ neck. “He’s still a bit too coherent. Drink up.”
Luhan shoved another drink at Kris who just took it and drank it, not caring what it was. Kris just grinned as Luhan fed him drink after drink. Joonmyun just watched, slowly sipping his drink.
It was getting harder for Kris to walk so he ended up plopping into a chair right next to Joonmyun. Luhan and Yixing kept coming by to refill his drink. Kris grew more relaxed and loud, occasionally getting up to dance but actually just flailing his limbs as Kris had no dancing skills when he was this inebriated.
Joonmyun gasped a bit when Kris plopped back down, face planting into Joonmyun’s lap. He squirmed a bit, not comfortable having a man’s face in his crotch. He squeaked when he felt lips brush over his covered length. His face heated a few degrees as his length hardened.
Kris looked up with a pleased grin. “You like that?”
Joonmyun coughed. “I don’t think you should be doing that.”
“Why not? Don’t you like it?” Kris gave a drunk happy smile and turned his head back around to mouth at Joonmyun’s growing erection. “It looks like you do.”
“Kris.” Joonmyun reached for Kris’ head, lifting it and turning it so Kris could face him. “You’re drunk. You’re engaged. You shouldn’t be doing this to another male.”
“Oh come on, Joonmyun. I’m just trying to give you a blowjob. It’s not like we’re going to have sex.”
Joonmyun choked and pushed Kris away from him. He stood up to walk away but found his wrist caught in a surprisingly strong grip. He turned to see Kris staring at him. “What?”
“What are you afraid of?”
“Nothing. I’m afraid of nothing.”
“Oh really?” Kris arched an eyebrow. “Then I dare you to go to bed with me.”
Joonmyun’s mouth fell open. “What?”
“You heard me. I want you to sleep with me. It’s my last chance as a single male. Time to get some ass before I’m shackled to someone.”
Joonmyun looked at Kris with slight disgust. “That was kind of rude. If you want to get some ass, go find someone else.”
“No.” Kris stared pleadingly at Joonmyun. “I want you. I’ll only sleep with you or my hand tonight, picturing you.”
Joonmyun gulped. He looked into Kris’ eyes and saw something he didn’t want to acknowledge but had no choice. Knowing he’d probably regret the decision, Joonmyun shook his head.
Kris’ smile widened. “Let’s go.”
Kris woke up naked with a throbbing headache. He looked around and recognized his apartment but nothing else. He grabbed his robe and headed out to his apartment. He froze when he found Yixing and Luhan already at home in his kitchen.
“Hey, how are you feeling?”
Kris just grunted as he collapsed into a chair at his dining table.
“That bad, huh? Here, have this.” Yixing set a bowl in front of Kris who accepted it grudgingly.
“So did you enjoy your night?”
Kris just glared at Luhan’s beaming face.
“From what I remembered, you definitely had a good time.” Luhan wiggled his brows. “We saw Joonmyun leaving your place early this morning with a slight limp in his step.”
Kris froze, spoon paused halfway to his mouth. “Joonmyun was here?”
Yixing looked carefully at Kris. “Do you remember anything from last night?”
“Vaguely but not well.”
Yixing and Luhan looked at each other, eyes wide. “Uh oh…”
“Uh oh what?” Kris looked at his two friends.
“Well that explains why Joonmyun snuck away and didn’t say anything to us when we passed him this morning.”
Kris paled. “What did I do? Why did he sneak away?”
“You sure you’re ready for this?”
Kris dropped his head in his hands. “Just tell me.”
Yixing and Luhan shared a look before Yixing gestured for Luhan to talk.
“Well uh…last night, you dared Joonmyun to sleep with you so you two left for your apartment. Then some time later, we received a text from you saying that you’d just fucked the love of your life and were going to elope with him. And well…that you were going to tell your father to get out of your marriage arrangement or else you’d go to the press and make it a huge scandal. And well if you’re going to elope with Joonmyun, that’s a big scandal right there and well…uh…not sure why this would make Joonmyun sad in the morning but I guess you didn’t tell him of your plans or something? I don’t know. This is all I know from the text message you sent me. You can go check your phone.”
Kris grabbed Luhan’s phone and rushed to his room to grab his phone to compare messages. Everything was as Luhan said though he had a few missed calls and voicemails from his father. Thankfully, nothing from the press or else this would be an even bigger disaster. He collapsed face down on his bed and threw his first temper tantrum since he was five.
Yixing and Luhan came in some time later, each sitting on opposite sides of Kris on the bed. Yixing gently stroked Kris’ hair. “Feel any better?”
“No…what am I going to do? I haven’t even checked my father’s messages yet but I know they’re not going to be pleasant.”
“Well what do you want to do?”
Kris turned around, sitting up against the headboard with a pout. “I want Joonmyun.”
“Well then go get him.”
“But what about my father? My upcoming marriage?”
Luhan winked. “Leave that to us. Now go get your man.”
Kris looked at Yixing hesitantly who smiled serenely and nodded his head. With the encouragement of his friends, Kris showered and got dressed before leaving his apartment in a rush.
Luhan looked at Yixing with a grin. “You know I was right to invite Joonmyun to the party.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you make sure to input Joonmyun’s address in Kris’ GPS?”
“Yep. He should probably arrive there in ten minutes with this traffic. Now to damage control.”
“I leave all that to you since you’re the mastermind behind all this.” Yixing held up his hands in surrender. “I’m just going to clean up the kitchen and wait for the outcome.”
“Alright, see you in five.” Luhan smiled as he took out his phone and began dialing numbers.
Kris pulled up in front of one of the richest apartment complexes in town. He hurried in, bypassing security and going into the elevator to the penthouse suite. The elevator dinged, signaling his arrival.
Kris walked out and stopped in the spacious foyer. “Joonmyun? Joonmyun, are you here?”
Joonmyun poked his head out of a door. “Kris? What are you doing here?”
“I need to talk to you.” Kris walked over, going inside the room and locking the door behind him. They were in a beautiful library, walls lined with shelves of books.
Joonmyun took a seat on one of the chairs by the window. “Okay? About what?”
“Last night.”
Joonmyun paused for a moment. “Last night? What about last night?”
“I don’t know about you but from what I can remember it was the best night of my life even if I was drunk off my ass. Seriously, sex with you was the best thing ever and if you want to, I’d love to have that for the rest of my life.” Kris looked imploringly at Joonmyun who looked unsure.
“What about your marriage?”
“That’s just a mutually beneficial business arrangement. Nothing that important.”
“Nothing that important? Hello? Kris, you’re a businessman. You know the important of business arrangements.”
“Well that can all go to hell. I want the love of my life instead of more wealth. I want you, Joonmyun, not someone I tolerate for the purpose of image and reputation.” Kris came over to Joonmyun, getting down on his knees and holding one of Joonmyun’s hands in his. “I know this is crazy, this might be fast, but please, will you marry me?”
Joonmyun stared down at Kris. “But Kris…”
“Please, just give me a chance. Right now, I’m sure Luhan is helping to break off my upcoming marriage. I can’t go through with it now that I’ve had you. It’s you and no one else. So please, Joonmyun, marry me.” Kris stared into Joonmyun’s eyes, willing him to see the love he had deep inside for him. What had started as a crush pushed to the side had resurfaced into love for this man. It might’ve been years since they last saw each other or hung out but Joonmyun was still the same, just a bit more refined but definitely the same Joonmyun that had caught his attention so long ago.
“Kris…you have to know this is crazy. We-we slept with each other last night, yes, sure, but that doesn’t mean we have to get married.” Joonmyun tried to ease his hand from Kris’ but to no avail.
“Can you honestly tell me you felt nothing from last night? Look me in the eye and tell me, Joonmyun and I’ll leave you. But I think we have something special and I don’t want to lose that, lose you. Please just…Joonmyun…” Kris looked pleadingly at Joonmyun.
Joonmyun took a chance to look Kris in the eyes, afraid of what he might see. What he found was more than he could hope for, more than he could dream of. With the sheen of tears in his eyes, Joonmyun threw himself at Kris, knocking them both to the ground as he clung tightly to Kris and buried his face in the crook of Kris’ neck.
Kris hesitantly wrapped his arms around Joonmyun. “Is…is that a yes?”
“Yes…yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I might be crazy, you might be crazy, but I don’t care.” Joonmyun buried his head further, pressing light kisses along Kris’ neck.
Kris moved Joonmyun’s head so he could kiss his lips. “I love you, Joonmyun.”
Joonmyun gave a breathless laugh. “And I love you, Kris.”
Kris, Joonmyun, Luhan, and Yixing were lounging around Kris’ living room, watching the news.
“A surprising change has occurred in the world of business. Instead of the heirs of Wu Corporation and Kim Enterprises getting married, the heir to Wu Corporation will be marrying the heir to K Global.”
Kris smiled, pulling Joonmyun closer and kissing his forehead. “Thanks for the help, you guys. As annoying as you can be, I couldn’t have better best friends.”
“Aww thanks, Kris. This sentimental note will be going into the video I’m preparing for your upcoming wedding.” Luhan grinned as he stopped the recording on his phone.
Kris groaned, burying his head into Joonmyun’s shoulders. “Why am I friends with that idiot again?”
Joonmyun laughed, ruffling Kris’ hair. “It’s okay, you have me to protect you now.”
“Can you really protect me from them?” Kris looked at Joonmyun with a slight pout on his lips.
“Hmm…maybe not, but I can make you feel better.” Joonmyun smiled as he gently kissed Kris’ lips. The click of a camera going off caused the two to turn towards the source.
Needless to say, Luhan and Yixing were thrown from the apartment, spare keys taken away, with a ban of not visiting for at least a week.
Luhan huffed. “That’s the thanks we get for getting together.”
Yixing placed a reassuring hand on Luhan’s arm. “Eh, forget it. Give them some alone time since we’ll probably be with them almost twenty four-seven after their wedding anyway.”
“Alright, fine. But don’t think I’ll forget this!” Luhan shook an angry fist at the closed door. “I will have my revenge!”
“Come on.” Yixing tugged Luhan towards the elevator.
Inside the apartment, the two were lost in each other, completely forgetting about their two friends outside the door.
Kris smiled as he traced a finger over Joonmyun’s face. “I’m so happy you decided to marry me.”
“I’m happy too.” Joonmyun smiled, his eyes twinkling as he gently sucked at Kris’ finger.
Kris’ eyes flashed. “I love you, Joonmyun.”
“I love you too, Kris. Let me show you how much.” Joonmyun’s eyes twinkled as he led Kris into his bedroom. He proceeded to thoroughly show Kris how much he loved him all night long.
