A Memory of Light
The final installment of the Wheel of Time series began by Robert Jordan, who recently passed away will be released on 3 Nov 2009!
Alas, it will be a 3 volume epic to be released over 2 years.
Universe Pictures, who picked up the movie rights to the Wheel of Time, has also decided to start at the beginning, with Volume 1: Eye of the World as its first movie. No directors or actors have been announced yet, so I won't hold my breath for this.
A comic book series will also be launching soon, by Tor and Dabel Brothers.
This one is quite clearly in the works with the first 10 pages already out, with the first 10 prelude pages already preleased.
Looks like 2009, 2010 and 2011 will have some events worth looking forward to!
