Suffice to say, Gupta was in shock when he saw the display of sweets and treats and cakes. These were not the foods of Cairo, these were foods of wealthy European types. There were fruits and caramels; chocolates and flaky pastries. The smell was almost overwhelmingly sweet, and for a moment he felt as though he had a toothache.

"Good afternoon."

Roderich stood at the table, busily arranging some plates and cups. He had glanced up when the door had opened once again and saw another guest entering. Having been taught to be polite, he instinctively greeted the man who looked a bit shocked.

[ooc: I would love to see that!]

Gupta bows his head in greeting, though it's stiff and a little uncomfortable in appearance. The expression on his face looks and appears disinterested, perhaps it's the way his eyelids sit heavily upon his eyes.

The Egyptian appeared aloof, but he was polite. Roderich walked towards Gupta, introducing himself along the way.

"I am Roderich, nice to meet you."

[[OOC: Lmao. I think Russia wants to hear Austria on the piano too.]]

[ooc: :D I have no protests!]

Gupta nodded his head with a smile, and it takes a considerable amount of time for him to finally introduce himself. "Gupta." But the word sounded hoarse, as if he hadn't spoken in years.

Roderich thought that it probably was just the Egyptian's personality - the fact that he doesn't talk much.

"Come in and help yourself. What would you like to drink?"

And Roderich was right to assume that this was the Egyptian's personality, because it was. He glanced around and nodded at the offer.

"That would be... nice, thank you."

Yong Soo approached the Egyptian boy, a strudel added to his plate along with the dobostrote with the confectionary fruit; the fact they were never introduced didn't seem to bother him.

"You should really try this one!" Yong Soo chimed, pointing to the strudel with his fork. He paused a second and then pointed to the next pastry on his plate. "But this one is really good, too!"

Gupta took a step back as he's approached by a young Korean boy, his plate laden with sweets. He held his hands up in protest, shaking his head.

Dejection never worked quite well for Yong Soo, especially when he put his mind into something. "But they taste good and it'd be rude not to at least try them when Roderich took the trouble of inviting you!" Yong Soo ate his cake unhappily, wondering if this boy ever had an aniki that taught him manners.

A thought entered his mind just as the smile began growing on his face. "I'll do what my aniki used to do for me: heeeeeeeere comes the aiiiirplaaaane!" Accompanied by a set of "zhooom!" sound effects, Yong Soo started to "fly" his fork airplane around, eyes fixated on its trail.

It went without saying that seeing such an enthusiastic young man suddenly lift his fork and make air plane noises was enough to result in Gupta's mouth falling open in what could only be described as a look of "shock".

With this opening, Yong Soo seized the opportunity to shove the sweet pastry into the boy's mouth. "Landing complete!" he chimed once he'd scraped his fork clean. Actually, the airplane sounds were pretty fun and he thought about doing the same for the purpose of his own entertainment.

Gupta could do nothing else but swallow as the fork landed and deposited its contents in his mouth. There was a moment as he tasted the pastries. Indeed they were painfully sweet compared to the foods of his home, but then he was hit with the overwhelming feeling of deliciousness.

His mouth rounded in an "Oh" shape.

"Pretty good, huh?" Yong Soo challenged, pointing his now empty fork in the Egyptian boy's face. Without poking anything this time or accidentally throwing pastries across the room, he placed his fork on the plate and made a peace sign with his now free hand. "Aren't you glad you tried them now? You should eat lots more!"

A part of Gupta didn't want to give this young man the satisfaction of having proven him right, but there was no denying the fact that these pastries were delicious. He licked his lips. "Yes, I am quite glad, thank you."

And he bowed his head in greeting.

Yong Soo was pleased with the result, even if the other boy seemed reluctant to admit it. He bowed back respectively, suddenly realizing that they'd never been introduced. Manners, manners, manners!

"I'm Im Yong Soo. You can call my Yong Soo!" he chirped, "I'm a sophomore in room 100 of the other wing! Oh yeah, and I'm from Korea!"
