Okay, this kind of sucks. Pilot fuel stations have paid Internet access. X( It's annoying, it's $25 for a month, and it's kind of slow, like slower than DSL speeds. And that's not because I'm used to Comcrap's 8Mbps...when I was working for Future Comm, we had 1.5Mbps DSL. This is slower than that, like probably 512Kbps or something.
So far it's been fun. The driving is the easy part--docking is another story. But, thanks to those backing exercises I got in school, it's been fairly easy the few times I've docked. I haven't hitched a trailer yet, but I'm sure I'll get to next week. The stops in Tennesee was uneventful, and we slept in the truck overnight before heading out to Mississippi. Keith and I get along great; we've been talking almost nonstop since we left for Jackson yesterday. He just bought an acoustic guitar today at Wal Mart, too, so now we can jam together. :-D
This is officially the end of my first week of training, and by the looks of it, I'll be graduating on time in three weeks. That means I'll be going solo in November--right as winter is starting. w00t. But, it's money, I chose this job because I wanted it, and I think I'm reasonably good in cold weather (though I can always use more experience). I'm parked here at a Pilot fuel stop in New Albany for the weekend, since this is Keith's weekend home.
Now that I have Internet access at Pilot stations, I'll do a quick update whenever we do a fuel stop.
