Right. Two things.
1: When working with an active Fourier Transform nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer (or FT-NMR, on the off chance you understood that), be sure you have an adequate casing for the device and don't take your eyes off the damn thing for a second. Reached for my Cup Noodles and ended up overloading every electrical device in a 5-block radius. That includes my computer. (The FT-NMR was unharmed though. Swell.)
2: While looting an electronics store for the parts and items you irreparably fried, be prepared for anything. Like the off chance someone else tries to rob the store at the same time. If my arms weren't busy tearing out the racks I might've seen that baseball-bat-to-the-back-of-the-head coming. Christ.
So now I have an enormous goose-egg, a bloody bandage around my head, and a new plasma-screen. All in all, things evened out.
...There's still one thing I gotta take care of.
