weekend in Chicago
So this weekend was pretty much amazing. On friday night, instead of doing homework like I should have, I re-learned how to play Magic (and apparently knowing how to play Magic automatically makes a girl more attractive. cool beans.). Then early saturday morning I caught a train to chicago. the train was an hour and a half late because of a couple of freight trains, but oh well, I still got there. Jen and I went out to Brunch, then I visited Missy at Loyola :) It was fun, i got a little tour and we went to Starbucks. It was great seeing her again. I missed her. I miss my old friends from high school.
So when Missy had to leave, Jen and I were planning to see 300 at the IMAX, but it was sold out, so we went downtown and went shopping and went out to dinner and went to the Hancock building. Since I'm going to be in GR this summer, I plan on visiting my sister a weekend or two this summer so we can do some of the touristy things that I've never done because Jen was too cool to be a tourist in her own city. It'll be fun :) It was fun this weekend too. she taught me a lot abot wine, it was cool. she let me try some when we got to her place, but I didn't like it too much. We also talked about school. She warned me of the dangers of loan debt...after dropping about $100 on clothes at H&M. yeeeah. w/e. She also layed out her life plan for me, lol. She wants me to graduate from Aquinas and go to UofC Davis for grad school so that when she goes to Nappa Valley to start her winery I can help her with all her soil quality stuff. lol. Heh, maybe if I like this research project over the summer enough I'll consider it. Ugh. either way, I'll just be glad when i make a freaking decision. all this uncerainty crap is killing me. (on that note, I found out tday that I will be sitting in on some classes at MSU the monday after Easter. I'm pretty psyched.)
So then on Sunday was the ACS (American Chemical Society) National meeting. it was pretty awesome. it was kind of like Science Olympiad for college kids. excpet not as cool. But I got to spend the day with some of my favorite AQ kids and a bunch of sexy chem nerds from other schools. I got to see some interesting presentations and stuff. There are pictures on my facebook. it was a lot of fun. then I got to drive three hours back while everyone else slept. :-P that was fun, lol. craziness. but yeah, great fun. we made my chem teacher laugh a lot. Not much else to say, but it was a lot of fun and really interesting.
And this week is going to be crazy. i need to figure out what were doing for research. I need to figure out where I'm living this summer and next semester. and....a million other things i need to get a start on. and lots of social stuff going on as well. and the Spring formal is this Friday! yay! that'll be fun. I get to wear my prom dress again and look pretty and all that. and I have a date..kind of. Paula and I are going together to save $5 ont he tickets, lol. it'll be fun though.
ummm...other than that...stuff going on, but not much worth reporting. So I hope you all have a wonderful week :)
