My Theme for English AP
The instructor said,
Go home and write
a page tonight.
And let that page come out of you---
Then, it will be true.
I wonder if it's that simple?
I have studied for many-a-years
And taken many classes with plenty of fear.
El Camino Real High School
Is the place to be oh so cool.
However, this one teacher in twelfth grade,
Told me to go home and write,
So I picked up a pen and held it tight.
But realized homework had to be typed.
So I got on the computer and started to pound
Trying to make a ruckus or any other sound.
Extremely frustrated was how I felt,
Because to my teacher there was nothing to tell.
Then I realized the one thing I yearned for
With every passing day, my heart wanted it more and more.
All I wanted was a beautiful letter "A"
That would surely make my day.
So, I started to type and rant
Typing up that poem made me pant.
But finally, I was done,
And realized I had won.
By completing this assignment,
I raised my grade like a tent.
Adding more points to the homework part,
I knew my five-week grading period was off to a great start.
So teacher, teacher, can't you see,
The only thing I want you to give to me,
Is a yummy big A on my report card
So I don't have to spend my Saturdays raking the yard.
