Andrew was tops at carrying trays of food, having been waiting tables for the better part of six years. That was a good thing, as he had a rather large plate of food and a tall glass of juice balanced on one when he quietly entered the room. Sitting gently on the edge of the bed beside her, he placed the tray across his knees and reached to pull down the top of the covers just a bit.
"Morning," he smiled. "I brought you breakfast." The plate held waffles piled high with strawberries and whipped cream. Beside the plate was a wildflower, plucked especially for her after his run.
Sam yawned, covering her mouth as she did so. "Morning."
She rubbed her eyes, getting the sleepiness out of them, and sat up in bed, flattening her wayward hair. She looked at the breakfast tray and smiles. "Oh, Andrew. I love waffles. Thank you."
"I just kinda guessed, but everything here is good, so I figured I was safe," Andrew smiled, waiting for her to get situated before carefully placing the tray across her legs.
He was just kind of staring happily back at her, as if he couldn't believe she was really there, in his bed, in his new suite, in Milliways. Her hair was a total mess, but it didn't matter. She was gorgeous to him.
"Well, you guessed right." Sam smiled and cut a bite and ate it. "Mmm! You were right when you said that the food here is good."
She did a little dance, one she likes to call her waffle dance, and smiled at him. "Yeah, I slept pretty well...had weird dream though...something about giant rabbits."
Andrew idly reached over to collect a little puff of whipped cream onto the end of his index finger and brought it to his mouth, sucking it clean again.
"They weren't demon rabbits, were they? They have those here."
"I've never seen one," Andrew replied with a subtle shrug. "Although I think if they were pink, that would be really screwed up. Of course, I don't put anything past this place. Was it a good dream or a bad dream?"
Andrew had had good dreams, for the first time in a very long time.
"It was good...in a weird, pink bunny sort of way."
She lifted the tray so she could scoot closer to Andrew, then she set it back in her lap, eating some of the whip cream like Andrew had earlier. "How about you? Sleep good?"
"Like a baby," Andrew replied absently, steadying her glass with his hand as he scooted closer himself. God, he wanted to be touching her constantly. It was like an undeniable compulsion.
He lifted a bit more of the whipped cream onto his finger and held it to her lips, arching a brow.
Thankfully, Andrew's hand hadn't left the juice glass, so it didn't tumble over onto the bed when she moved, or when he moved to meet her. Which he did, with relish.
"Morning, beautiful," he whispered against her lips, bumping their noses together.
She giggled and kissed him quickly before talking against his lips. "I love waking up to your voice, and I love the fact that we're sitting here, together, even though I don't know how or why we're here, but I love it. I love you."
"This is a good thing," Andrew agreed, smiling. "And it's ours." He nuzzled against her cheek and whispered, "You're mine." All his. This, while perhaps not of any particular note to Sam, was of great import to Andrew. He understood all too well the alternative, even if he'd never lived it himself. It was, in effect, all around him there, everyday.
After a moment he pulled back a bit, cradling her cheek in his palm. "You want me to draw you a bath?"
"I can go downstairs and get you some from Bar while you're in the tub," Andrew replied, leaning forward to kiss the end of her nose once before he pushed himself from the bed. He wandered across the hall to the bathroom, and at length Sam would be able to hear the water running.
"I don't have any bubbles, sorry," Andrew called. A moment later he was back, leaning in the doorway and just watching her with a contented smile on his lips as the bathtub filled in the room behind him.
"Can you get me a pink jacket? Like the one I have at home? I didn't wear it yesterday." Sam picked up the glass of juice and drank some as Andrew went a fixed a bath.
"No bubbles?" She pouted as he came back. "I guess...I will live." She moved the tray off her lap and set the glass down on the table next to the bed, and stretched.
