your brain betrays you

Sam sat on the bed, Andrew's bed, playing with the holocubes Jaina had given her. She sighed, and tossed them onto the bed, and ran a hand through her hair.

No matter how many times she'd said it to someone, or how many times she told herself, she knew the truth...Milliways is fucked up. Only at Milliways would Sam find the boyfriend who had just left her minutes before, and they be reunited happily...and only in Milliways was there two doppelgangers who looked just like him, one who was rough and a little scary, and apparently never there, and the other a quirky weirdo who Sam found fun to be around.

It was the last one that gave her...no, Andrew trouble. Who would have thought a harmless, friendly kiss on the cheek could make Andrew so mad? JD had brought her a stereo...her own, one she could keep, and she wouldn't have to stick headphones on all the time and be alone. She'd thanked him...and it had made Andrew so paranoid about her and JD.

She didn't love JD, she loved Andrew. In fact, she only barely liked JD, he was annoying, but knew that he could make her laugh if he tried. She hated that she could sit there, and tell Jaina how to fix her love life, yet not be able to do a thing about her own...

Last night's fight ended with a promise that Sam wouldn't go anywhere...but she wondered if Andrew would say the same. She knew that he would...yet a part of her doubted it.

Samantha sighed and got up, tired of thinking, and grabbed her pink jacket, and headed down the stairs for something alcoholic.
