i'm making beats again and revisiting the work that i did last year. it's really great to go back to material you've forgotten about. it seems new and fresh. i'm an advocate of abandoning material when you run out of ideas and then revisiting it at a later time.
watch out for octopus v. 2.2 (special edition hip-hop... v. 2.0 is a jazz collective, while v. 2.1 is a guitar duo. v. 1.x ended december 31, 2003 with a bottle of gray goose and some other stuff...) sometime this spring. i'm wondering if my performing name will be a good marketing device or whether it will just become old and lame. i'll give it another year.
