Goodbye little honeybun

Well there's been a lot of late. Was sick for a total of 2 weeks and thus lost that time working for Faery Fest; not too thrilled about that in the least, but I'm trying my best to make up for lost time... I just wish my body would decide what it wanted to do, because some days I feel good and others not so hot. I'm still marching along with my iron pills since I'm low aside from other medications to get me in working order as it were.

Also during that time we lost our dear little Nike. Her health started to decay rapidly and we took her to a vet who gave us some special food and instructions to see if she got any better... but we had to put her down. In my research she turned out to be a textbook example of a pituitary tumour and there was nothing we could do.

Otannabe Animal Hospital has our business for LIFE. They were excellent and caring and sympathetic to someone loosing a beloved animal no matter what species. Kevin and I both hated saying goodbye to her and we still miss her dearly. Just today in the mail we got a sympathy card from the animal hospital giving us condolences on the loss of our pet and was hand written and personalized with her name.

We buried her in the ferns beneath our tree outside the kitchen window marked with three rocks.

That means that though we still have our Selene, she's a lone rattie and that's not too great for such social creatures. On the upside we've found a local rat breeder who Kevin has emailed and we'll hopefully be able to get Selene a friend that has been properly quarantined to be safe for Selene.

I've been plugging away as much as I can for Faery Fest, and have made "Sleepy Bloops" whose result I'm happy with and has had a great response from others. I've also finally been able to start working with wire for jewelry, making cold forge pieces - simple but fun to do.

I just need to get my energy back to make all this sculpting and sewing etc. happen.

faery fest, art, goodbye nike
