And I'm back!
I came, I saw, I Faery Fest 2011 Enchanted Ground!
It went really great, great sales, great vendors and great patrons.
I had 8 Wild Sea Marshmallows with me - 7 sold the first day and the last the next day early in the morning. There wasn't anything I brought that didn't sell and that felt AMAZING! I'll also be in Snap Guelph in July.
Right now its crazy that I don't have a big festival to get ready for at the moment. One of the ways I celebrated being done is reorganizing my kitchen and cleaning my bathroom - sounds crazy, but when its big show time I don't have the time to keep things neat and organized. It all ends up in a messy but kind of functional mess lol. I can finally see the top of my kitchen table and my counter tops are clean. I also have clear access to The Beast (my drafting table) and everything has its own place at the moment. Next up will be the living room (where I'm currently typing this) which is my main area of working. There are paint brushes and other art supplies everywhere and scraps of parchment paper from working with polymer clay and other bits and bobs that need to find their own home. At one point I had my desk cleared... but right now its got piles of graphic novels and other things from TCAF. Things have just been shifting around at the moment to make room for what I needed to do for Faery Fest, so now I can get things back to semi-function.
Now that all the madness paid off, I can finally get back to drawing again. I LOVE doing tactile art but it doesn't leave a lot of time to get drawing done. Now that I can it feels bloody well AMAZING. I've finally been able to work on concepts for a graphic novel idea that I've been kicking about for a bit and I think I've got the main character's design finally where I want it. Sitting with a sketchbook is poetry.
I also get to work on thumbnailing out some painting ideas for a group gallery show in Toronto - the painting/s have to be done before the end of July so its time to get cracking on that too.
I'll have some photos of my booth etc. later - for now its podcast time and relaxing for a bit.
