Carl Sagan is my Jesus

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time someting like that happened in politics or religion."

-Carl Sagan, 1987 CSICOP Keynote Address

Oi, I am sick of this Demon Cold From Hell I've been infested with-- I've pretty much been couch-bound since last Wednesday when I left work early because I felt like unidentifiable death. I think I got home about noon and slept until 9:30pm. That was impressive. The next day I made it to the doctor and got diagnosed as "having something viral". I managed to work from home on Friday, but so far a phone call, voicemail and email to my boss today has left me with no results. I just started this job and I like it! I want to be in the office and be working and be productive! Instead I am here, in my apartment that needs to be cleaned and organized but I'm feeling too crap to even cook decent meals.

Bad Cat has, of course, been thrilled with this state of affairs.

I suppose I should put this time to better use than just whining on my Livejournal like I'm seventeen again. I have difficult emails to write and Things To Do. What better day than a cold, foggy Monday when I'm in suspended couch-animation?

I'm probably going to go look around on the internet some more now. <-- Not high achievement behavior
