In similar news (this is turning into Alcoholic Livejournal)and in case you aren't a regular reader of The Cousin Blog, you really need to be introduced to my very favorite new poem of ever. Basically it comforts me that people were looking for excuses to drink alone even in Ancient China. And whatever they drank back then probably would make a man out of you (10,000 bonus points if you just got that Mulan reference).
Drinking Alone with the Moon
From a pot of wine among the flowers
I drank alone. There was no one with me-
Till, raising my cup, I asked the bright moon
To bring me my shadow and make us three.
Alas, the moon was unable to drink
And my shadow tagged me vacantly;
But still for a while I had these friends
To cheer me through the end of spring. . .
I sang. The moon encouraged me.
I danced. My shadow tumbled after.
As long as I knew, we were boon companions.
And then I was drunk, and we lost one another.
. . .Shall goodwill ever be secure?

Also my boss gave me unicorn stationary today and I finally got to decorate at least a corner of the office we four interns share (The Intern Cave) so it has been a good day. Minus the screaming children who tried to ruin my lunch in the pretty outside.
I swear, I've always liked children and assumed that I would have some of them eventually. Lately every time I see children my immediate and strong reaction is "ew". Maybe this will change. Probably Cousin Love and I will end up completely Grey Gardens style at the river house in Wimberley with 9,000 cats all named Mittens.
